Wrap Ups

August Wrap-Up.

With me trying with this new blog again I’m going to start with a wrap up.

I originally thought it had been a pretty slow month but then when I came to looking at which books I’d read I found I’d read 10 books!

Scorch by Gina Damico

u.pngThis is the second book in the Croak trilogy by Gina Damico. This series follows Lex who finds out she’s a Grimm Reaper and moves to the town of Reapers called Croak. This series is incredibly entertaining and so much stuff happens and in this second book we delve even further into the world of Grimm Reapers.

Ghost Files Volume 3 & Volume 3.5.  by Apyrl Baker

Ghost File Volume 4 part 1 & part 2 by Apryl Baker

So I became pretty obsessed with this series recently. I reread the first three books before starting the next. I only have one book left in the series. Yes this series is cheesy and at times cringey but it’s incredibly addictive and definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

This book blew up recently online with so many people loving it. A murder mystery novel set at a boarding school. Yes this sounded epic. Although I did enjoy it I ended up disappointed and that broke my heart. I enjoyed the scenes set in the 1930’s and Nate who was just such a realistic representation of a writer. I do see myself coming to love this series with the future releases and I’m looking forward to figuring out the mystery.

Away We Go by Emil Ostrvski

25679389This book was just … weird. I did not enjoy this what so ever. This book is set in a world where children are dying of a disease with no cure and are put in rehabilitation centres before they die. This book was like a bookish version of nails on a chalkboard to me and I very nearly dnf-ed it but I sucked it up because this book has been on my shelf for so long.

An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld

This book is beautiful and the time I spent flipping through this was so much fun.

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Another that’s been on my shelf for forever! This book really wasnt all that interesting. Just the main character Layla pining over both her older foster/adoptive brother Zayne and also a demon named Roth and …. it became exhausting. However it was very interesting to see the evolution of YA from just four years ago to now.

To All The Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Hann

51TDXvgmwoL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_I really didn’t mean to start this and I’d actually started something different but at about midnight I picked this up on a whim because my Tumblr dash was filled with gifs from the movie so I needed to reread it before I watched that. This was even cuter the second time around and the movie was amazing too.

All in all I did a pretty good job this month and I’m pretty sad that with school starting up in a couple of weeks I’m not going to be able to read as much.
