Christmas is about many things: family, being woken up at the ass crack of dawn by younger sibling, stuffing yourself with more food then you’ve eaten all year, and gifts and for any book lover that usually means books!
I was super lucky this year and the big fat man left a whole bunch of books I’m really looking forward to reading!
(Wow look at my terrible photography rearing it’s head once again!)
Magnus Chase 9 from the 9 Worlds by Rick Riordan
It’s kind of become a tradition that I get a Rick Riordan book every year because he just keeps releasing them! I read this already because I couldn’t help myself and really enjoyed it. It’s a collection of 9 stories from side characters in the Magnus series which includes Thor going on a run through all nine worlds and causing havoc and mayhem.
Books 2-5 Magisterium series by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black.
I read The Iron Trial this year and LOVED it way more then I was expecting too. I was not expecting to get so many but I’m really excited and have already started on Copper Gauntlet. This series really reminds me of Harry Potter and yet is incredibly interesting in its own right and I’m very curious as to how this series is going to progress.
Zac & Mia by A.J Betts
I saw the movie trailer for this and it’s kind of morbid but I really enjoy the kid has cancer but finds love or bff kind of trope and I’ve been wanting this one for a while now.
Timekeeper by Tara Sim
I don’t actually fully remember what it’s about. I believe it has something to do with time travel (duh) and Victorian London and clocks? I really do not know but it did intrigue me and I heard this has LGBT rep?
Little White Lies by Jennifer Lynn BarnesÂ
I am so excited about this book! I’ve only ever read Jennifers series The Naturals but that is one of my favourite series I love it so much and it really pushed me into reading more Young Adult and so to say I’m excited to read this is an understatement I just really hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Ladies Guide To Petticoats and Piracy by Mckenzie Lee
Of course I had to ask for this book. Felicity was a great character in Gentlemans Guide and I was so happy when it said she was getting her own novel. I admit I’ve seen some people not love this as much as I thought they would so I am a bit nervous but it has ace rep so I’m gonna try and not let that nervousness defeat me.
So that’s it for my book haul. I got money off relatives in England for Christmas as well and of course had to purchase a few more so there will no doubt be another book haul in weeks to come. 🙂
Oh I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the first book in the Magisterium series! I’ve been wanting to read those but have been unsure of how much I’d like them. I’ll have to put them on the TBR for next year though 🙂 Great post and I hope you enjoy all of these books!!
