Intriguing 2019 Releases.

2019 is the year for amazing book releases and I am going to be so poor by the end of it all.

So a couple of Wednesdays ago I made a list of my most anticipated 2019 releases that I cannot wait for! But then I started reading and watching other peoples posts and I realised … I’m screwed.

And in the end I had to do another post with the six books I’d recently discovered because, although I don’t know much about most of them, I am so excited.

1- Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

Tyrants cut out hearts. Rulers sacrifice their own

I want this cover tattooed on my body for all eternity. It’s so pretty!

I don’t know what this is about. I saw some people refer to it as Chinese inspired Game of Thrones which sounds badass.

Expected Publication: April 2nd 2019

2-Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

An imaginative fantasy about an apprentice at a magical library who must battle a powerful sorcerer to save her kingdom

I was never interested in Margaret Rogerson’s other book, An Enchantment of Raven but this! This which features a gorgeous cover and is about a magical library! This I am definitely interested in.

Expected Publication: June 4th 2019

3-Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian

“A love letter to queerness, self-expression, and individuality (also Madonna) that never shies away from the ever-present fear within the queer community of late ’80s New York, Like a Love Story made me feel so full–of hope, love, courage, pride, and awe for the many people who fought for love and self-expression in the face of discrimination, cruelty, and death.

This is set in 1989 in New York City and follows three teenagers during the Aids crisis. I really don’t know how to describe it especially when I don’t know much myself but this seems like it’s going to be hard hitting and so gripping to read.

Expected Publication: June 4th 2019

4- The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen-

A future chieftain. A fugitive prince. A too-cunning bodyguard.

I feel like sooner or later anyone interested in Young Adult literature is going to have just a whole shelf dedicated to books featuring birds in the title? What’s the fascination with Ravens and Crows? Either way the title as well as the three characters I’m guessing this follows are reason enough for me to pick this up.

Expected Publication: July 30th 2019

5- The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh

At once a sultry romance and a thrilling murder mystery, master storyteller Renée Ahdieh embarks on her most potent fantasy series yet: The Beautiful. And these vampires don’t sparkle. They slay.

Vampires are making a come back and I am so ready for it.

Expected Publication: October 8th 2019

6-Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

A big-hearted romantic comedy in which the First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales after an incident of international proportions forces them to pretend to be best friends…

This sounds like some sort of Tumblr fanfiction au and I love it already. If this is crap I’m probably gonna cry.

Expected Publication: May 14th 2019

So yep. There goes my plans of saving up this year for important things like visiting my baby brother and sister back in England and driving lessons for next year and all that 🙂
