Hello, and happy Wednesday!
Todays Top 5 Wednesday topic is a freebie! And so I figured I’d talk about my Top 5 YA Retellings I want to read.
Retellings of fairy tales and of classics are huge in the young adult community but to be honest, there really aren’t many I want to read. As you can tell by the title of todays Wednesday post, there are five I’m interested in.
All weekly topics can be found HERE.
1- Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
This is a retelling of Red Riding Hood I believe … but with werewolves! I’m not about to turn that down especially when I found it for cheap on my Kindle.
2- Everland by Wendy Spinale
I’ve heard really good things about Everland, with it being a retelling of Peter Pan with a deadly virus with only children surviving. I believe it’s the start of a trilogy that also are retellings, one of them being the Wizard of Oz.
3- Insanity by Cameron Jace
Insanity is an Alice in Wonderland retelling, and after accidentally killing everyone in her class, Alice Wonder is now a patient in the Radcliffe Lunatic Asylum. That sounds so cool to me! I’ve seen it around on the kindle store for a while and I really want to read it.
4- Peter Darling by Austin Chant
Another Peter Pan retelling! I love this cover so much! This is a story of Peter leaving Neverland to grow up. That’s all I know, that’s all I really want to know, but it does have some good ratings online.
5- Ever Alice by HJ Ramsay
And also another Alice retelling! With a more or less exact same plot of Alice ending up in an asylum. I don’t know too much besides this. I got this on Netgalley as an arc so hopefully I’ll read it before it’s publication in August.
Clearly I’m really into Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland although I’ve never read the originals.
