Hello and happy Friday!
So, one of my reading related goals for this year is to unhaul some books. I’ve been collecting books for over three years now and so … there’s a fair few.
I’ve made a slow start on the unhauling process. I’ve picked the ones I know are defnitly getting the boot and I’ve also given away 2 to a friend to read with 2 more on standby for when he finishes. So I’m not doing bad.
But there are four books which I’m going to need to re-read before I decide their fate.
- Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson – Ever since reading this I’ve felt bad about not liking it as much as everyone else seems too. This one isn’t so much to see if I should unhaul it but more to see if I should bother buying the second book. I don’t want to force myself into continuing on with a series but the hype makes me want to try again.
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – I read this a few years ago and … wasn’t a fan. I think it was the very beautiful and descriptive writing style that threw me off though. I was new to reading so I think it was past my skill level. I’m hoping now that I’ll be able to love this book and the rest of the series which I own but have not read!
- Silence of Six by E.C Myers- This book is about hacking and I love watching things about that. My problem when originally reading this was that I don’t think I paid enough attention and ended up lost and confused. I’m hoping the second time around I’ll be able to understand and follow along better.
- This is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp- I’ll probably still give this away after but I do want to reread before saying adios and I don’t know why.
Trying to find time to reread these on top of everything else I want to read is going to be a struggle but I’m hoping I can find time throughout the rest of the tear to get to these.
I definitely recommend giving Daughter of Smoke and Bone another chance! I had some issues with the first book as well, but it gets a lot better!
