Hello and welcome to my blog and most importantly … Happy Summer!
Spring happened. I don’t remember much of it actually. It’s kind of a blur filled with sneezing, exams and the disappointment of not getting any Easter eggs but oh well.
Today I’m going to be talking about the top 5 books I read in the past three months. And to be honest I actually kind of struggled with picking 5 because although I’ve read quite a lot, there’s not been many to write home about.
But fear not because I did mange to get there eventually and I actually did really enjoy what I picked:
1- Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
It literally feels like I read this an eternity ago. How was this back in March! I am very happy to say I’ve completed this much beloved duology. I love the banter of these characters so much. That’s what I look for in a book and this has a lot of it. I’m kind of hoping to start the Grisha trilogy this summer, just so that I can pick up the Nikolai series sooner cause it has precious Nina in it and I need more of her in my life. Review Here.
2- Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Wow! What a surprise to see this here. Not like I haven’t been talking about it none stop since I read it. This book was amazing. I’m gonna try and chill out now and not bring it up so much but its hard!. I am happy to report though, that this is slowly growing a following on tumblr and it’s only a matter of time before there’s a shit ton of fanart and things and I cannot wait! Review Here.
3- A Girl Called Shameless by Laura Steven.
I almost didn’t include this and for that I am forever sad because this was my most anticipated release of the year. It wasn’t bad by any means, infact I had a great time reading it. It’s just that after looking back and comparing it to the first book, I really don’t get as excited over it as I wish. Review Here.
4- Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
Yes I’ve read (part of) the online version. Yes I had a giant grin on my face even as I read this first volume.
5- Say Her Name by James Dawson
I’ve never read any horror books before so this was a first for me and I really enjoyed it! This book revolves around the story of Bloody Mary and is set in a British all girls boarding school. I picked this up randomly one weekend and flew through it. Maybe my only critique would be I want more gore and murder but that’s just because I’m a creep.
So those were my five favourite books from the past three months. I’m hoping to read even more amazing things this coming summer. Thanks for reading 🙂
