Hello and welcome to my blog.
Today I’m going to be talking about an author I want to read more of: Jenn Bennett.
Jenn Bennett is an award winning Young Adult author whose books I’ve come to love this year. Her romances are so cute and I love how she includes different topics for example astronomy and anatomical art. (Is that what it’s called?)
What I’ve Read:
Publication Date: April 3rd 2018
I picked this up on Riveted.com a few months ago now and had such a great time reading it. I feel like it could be said that this book made me more open to reading and enjoying YA contemporary romance.
I love the characters, especially Lennon who I admit I was crushing on a little (a
lot). I loved the family dynamics, more specifically Lennon’s lesbian mothers and Zorie’s super close relationship to her (step)mum.
This book made me want to go camping! Like this book literally made me want to leave my house and go out into the real, scary world. It deserves around of applause for that alone.
Publication Date: August 13th 2015
Strangely they changed the title in the UK so this book also goes by The Anatomical Shape of a Heart. I flew through this book and had so much reading it. Believe it or not it’s been on my shelf for nearly 2 years but I’ve only just picked it up.
It follows a girl named Bex who want to be a medical artists, as in drawing anatomical diagrams and such, who meets Jack on a late night bus ride who just so happen to be a graffiti artist going around vandalizing the city.
Bex and Jack were great main characters, both very interesting and their romance was so sweet. Again, just like with Lennon, I’m maybe a little in love with Jack, and Bex too to be honest.
Overall I just really loved this book a whole lot.
What I Want to Read:
Truth be told I have no idea what either of these books are about but I have complete and utter faith in Jenn Bennetts talent that I’m going to enjoy these two books.
I know the main character in Alex, Approximately has a love for classic movies a topic I know absolutely nothing about but I’m interested. But other then knowing its the most recent release, I know absolutely nothing about Serious Moonlight.
Jenn Bennet actually has a new release coming out September 3rd and it’s her first Historical Fiction novel:
(In picture I do not like this cover but I think it has potential in person)
The Last Magician meets A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue in this thrilling tale filled with magic and set in the mysterious Carpathian Mountains where a girl must hunt down Vlad the Impaler’s cursed ring in order to save her father.
Now I haven’t read The Last Magician but I did love A Gentleman’s Guide and the premise of hunting down Vlad the Impaler interests me however … I’m nervous about trying this book.
My enjoyment of Jenns books have been her sweet contemporary romance with relatable characters and interesting subject matters so I don’t know how I’m going to feel about this.
I do think I’ll keep a look out for people’s thoughts on this and that might (probably) impact my desire to read this.
Either way I do fully intend on reading her other 2 contemporary novels and any others she releases in the future.
