Hello and welcome to my blog 🙂
Today I’m going to be talking about a few of my Instant Buy Authors. I will be leaving out the more obvious ones like Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare. I sold my soul to these two authors years ago and it doesn’t need to be mentioned again.
But joining the ranks of “people who own my soul” are:
1- Karen M. McManus
I have read both of Karen M. McManus’ books: One of Us is Lying and Two Can Keep a Secrete. Its actually become a sort of tradition that I go back home to England for a visit and end up purchasing her newest release.
These books are so reminiscent of series like Pretty Little Liars in the best possibly way. They’re full of suspense and mystery but also include real life teenage problems and compelling characters. I’m really looking forward to reading more of what she puts out, especially the sequel/companion novel to One of us Is Lying which is called One of Us Is Next.
2- Jenn Bennett
I dedicated a whole post to Jenn Bennett recently and that’s because I have fallen so in love with her stories. So far I’ve only read two of her young adult contemporaries but as you can guess, I loved them and plan on reading the others in the very near future.
What I love about her books is that she writes such adorable and shippable romances. Each character has their own little thing be that be hiking, art, astrology which makes them feel so real. She aslo incorporates other plots besides from just the romance which I love.
3- Laura Steven
I fell in love with Laura Steven and her YA debut The Exact Opposite of Okay last year and haven’t been able to shut up about her or the book ever since.
For starters she’s a British author so I feel like I’ve got to support her for that alone and also her books are filled with so much humour while also tackling a big subject matter and I will read any more young adult novels she comes out with.
She does have a book titled And Then I Turned Into a Mermaid however this is a middle grade novel published under a different name. Normally I would be interested in Middle Grade but I feel like UK middle grade is generated to a much younger audience where as US Middle Grade is enjoyable for all.
4- Casey McQuiston
I, just like everyone else have only read one book by Casey McQuiston, that of course being Red White and Royal Blue, a book that has taken the book community by a storm and for good reason. But already I am ride or die.
Already her next novel, untitled with no cover, is on my TBR. It’s going to be a W/W romance and I believe it has something to do with a biker gang but I might be getting that totally wrong.
Either way I feel like she has something really special in the way she tells stories, its both beautiful and hilarious all together and I am so looking forward to see what else she comes out for.
So those are the current authors who I plan on spending a lot of money on in the future.
I feel like there’s worse people I could have decided to pledge my life too so really my parents should be proud.
Thank you for reading.
