Forcing my mum to watch all the MCU Movies.

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog 🙂

So, as the title says, I am full on forcing my mum to marathon all the Marvel movies in timeline order. This came about after she watched the entire Iron Man trilogy with my brother and then found out Tony Starks fate through Facebook and she wanted to know what happened with him and so I seized the opportunity are here we are.

I’m going to instil some culture in my mother even if it’s the last thing I do. First Marvel movies, next up Vines (I’ve tried so many times and she just doesn’t get it)

We are making out way through the movies in timeline order meaning we’re starting with Captain America and then Captain Marvel, etc. And I figured this was the perfect opportunity to share my opinions on each one and decide overall which are my favourite.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

firstavengerbg.jpgI was sceptical going into this because first time around I found this pretty boring but I had a great time!

I mean this features Bucky Barnes looking adorable and Peggy Carter looking like she could run me over with a military grade tank and I would thank her so really how could I not enjoy this.

Captain Marvel (2019)

Custom-Canvas-Wall-Painting-Captain-Marvel-Poster-Captain-Marvel-Wallpaper-Carol-Danvers-Stickers-Dining-Room-Decoration.jpg_q50.jpgThis movie is so good!

Carol and Maria are 100% married, you cannot change my mind about this. I love everything about it like Goose the cat and Phil Coulson cameos. Also thought the humour and political message of feminism and immigrants worked well together. I need a sequel.

Next up would have been the beginning of the Iron Man movies but like I said mum watched them with my brother so I haven’t rewatched although I will forever be a Tony Stark stan.

Thor (2011)

DRFV_uVX0AA0cy3Mum: Oh so Loki’s a bad guy.

Me: He’S MisUndeERstOoD

It took me so long to find a half decent poster to use for this. They’re all so ugly.

This movie, like the posters, was pretty bad. They were just trying way too hard for the whole Godly medieval Thor feel and it did not work! Even the armour and the sword props just looked so bad.

I did enjoy Loki though and it was crazy to see Tom Hiddelston look so young! He was a baby! Also, I love Darcy with my whole heart and she needs to be in Thor 4.

The Avengers (2012)

ZrNhDn6I would absolutely love to go back in time to the opening night of this movie and watch it in a room filled of excited nerds. I just think the atmosphere would be amazing.

This movie has so many great lines as well:

  • “Doth mother knoweth your weareth her drapes” – Tony Stark.
  • “I have an army”, “we have a Hulk” – Loki & Tony Stark.
  • “He killed 80 people in 3 days”, “he’s adopted” – Black Widow & Thor.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

thorbgI mean this movie is enjoyable but still terrible. What I’m trying to say here is that Taika Waititi should have been in charge of this trilogy from day 1.

I did however love the Darcy moments, also the representation of UK police at the start of the movie was spot on and made me laugh.

Also points go against this movie for firing Patty Jenkins the director of WONDERWOAMN! Who thought that was a good idea!!! Imagine how much better thais could have been with her at the helm of this metaphorical ship.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

AKA Bucky Barnes is back bitches AKA I cry AKA one of the best MCU movies ever.

I was so excited to finally get to watch this the other night. Endgame might have been … you know, but the Russo brothers pulled it out of the bag with this movie.

I love the political thriller feel this movie has to it while still being a superhero movie. Also the fight sequences in this are down right phenomenal. It also gets points because I’m a winter soldier fan and think he deserves the world.
black-and-white-flowers-tumblr-transparent-12So those are my thoughts on the first few movies I’ve watched with my mum.

It’s gonna be a while before part 2 because we’re literally watching about 1 a week and I’m planning to do this 6 movies at a time.

Next up is the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and I’m pretty sure Spiderman Homecoming is in that batch too so I can’t wait.

Thank you for reading.
