My current Bookish Wishlist.

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog 🙂

Today we’re discussing my problems. I have a fair few problems but to be more specific we’re going to be talking about the fact that I’m in a reading slump and still considering buying more books.

Do I need new books? Nope. Definitly not.

Do I have the space or the time to read new books? Nope. I’m already drowning in my current TBR.

Have these factors, plus the fact that I’ve literally read 2 books in 20 days, stopped me from compiling a list of books I really want to buy? Also nope.

I think somebody needs to stage an intervention and stop me but in the mean time, lets take a look at my current Bookish Wishlist:

Graphic Novels

I very rarely read Graphic Novels so the amount currently sat in my Amazon Wishlist/Cart waiting to be bought is a new experience for me.

Fence Volumes 1, 2 & 3 by C.S Pacat I’ve read volume one by buying each individual issue through Kindle and I really enjoyed it but I didn’t have the money to continue on.

This series really reminds me of All For the Game but with fencing and I don’t know why. I think it’s a mix of obscure sports mixed with rivalries and lgbt+ themes. Either way I saw that Volume 3 was released this week, I believe, so I definitely want to own all of these, especially considering this is getting turned into a novel!!

Heartstopper Volume 2 by Alice Oseman I bought (got my dad to buy me) the first volume when I was visiting my family in the UK and i loved this. I love the setting at a regular school in the UK. I love Osemans cute art style. And most of all I love Charlie and Nicks romance and I’m dying to add this to my shelf.

Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia- I completed season 1 of the show Titans this week. I loved it and although season 2 comes out at the beginning of September, I really need more Titans content. This follows Rachel AKA Raven and that’s all I know but I did really enjoy the show adaptation of her so I’m hoping I’d like this too.

Actual Novels

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson- This book follows a girl who was raped at a party and that’s all I really know about the plot. I do know that it has great ratings and I feel like this could be a very powerful and impactful story that I really want to read.

These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling – I have no idea what this book is about but it has a cute title and the word witches in the title. The last time I was excited about a urban fantasy witch book with a cute cover I was sorely let down (Undead Girl Gang) but I have hope in this.

Vengeful by V.E Schwab- I read Vicious this past week, the first book I actually managed to complete this month and it was glorious. Review to come as soon as I stop procrastinating. I was totally satisfied with the ending of Vicious and I didn’t really see the need for a sequel however I’m excited it exists because I did love the characters, and I’m also happy that I don’t have to wait years for the sequel to be published.

black-and-white-flowers-tumblr-transparent-12So those are the group of books I do not need in the slightest and yet am dying to own. I’m hoping this need/desire/obsession goes away soon. Or, more realistically, I’m hoping my reading pace picks up a whole lot so I don’t feel guilty about eventually buying these because really thats the more likely of scenarios.

Thank you for reading, if anyone wants to hold an impromptu intervention down in the comments go for it. I need it. Seriously.

  1. Oh my God, we both need an intervention! My book-buying habit is completely out of control, and I keep getting books from the library and neglecting to read the ones I already own! 😛 The only book on this list that I’ve actually read was ‘Speak,’ and I really liked it. Laurie Halse Anderson’s books can be a bit hit or miss for me but I definitely recommend that one.
