Series I need to finish but probably wont for a while // Top 5 Tuesday

Hello, happy Tuesday and happy September!

The first Top 5 Tuesday topic of September is: Top 5 Series I Need to Finish!!!

I actually had a post similar to this planned out but there’s a fair few To Be Finished series so it’s probably for the best that I’m splitting this up into 2 parts. For today I’m focusing on the series I’m quite far into that I need and do want to to complete soon.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanna @ The Bionic Book Worm

1- DC Icons by various authros

Although I read the first book Wonder Woman Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo I never planned on continuing on, however, I’m actually currently reading book number 2 in the companion series: Barman Nightcrawler by Marie Lu. It was up for cheap on Kindle so I jumped at the chance because I’m a bookaholic who can’t say no to a good deal, and I’ve decided to finish the series, especially because I’ve heard mixed reviews about Catwoman by Sarah J Maas and I want to see what I think.

2- Vampire Academy by Rachele Mead

I started this series literally years ago, it was one of my first ventures into Young Adult as I’m sure it was for a fair few people, expect I got 4 books in and never finished. I really enjoyed this series, especially the first 2. I do want to continue, I actually want to start over from the beginning but … I leant out the first book to a friend about two years ago and never got it back so … 🙂

3- Magisterium by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare

I’m only 1 book away from completing this series! Can I get a wahoo!!!

This series is very much like American Harry Potter, at least to start with but I’m enjoying this it, they’re fast, they’re entertaining, it has a disabled main character, I love how it kind of topples certain tropes on their head and changes them. But, it is pretty forgettable.  I have had to read online recaps before jumping into the following book but I’m looking forward to finishing it, hopefully sometime in the next four months.

4- The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan.

I need to finish this because that way I can say I’ve read all books in the Percy Jackson mythological world. I need to read this because I own all the books. I need to read this because I literally only have 1 books to go. I need to read this because I love Sadie Kane and I love the dude called Felix (?) who summons penguins.

I. Need. To. Read. This. And yet I doubt its going to happen any time soon 🙂

5- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Still not finished this series :)))))

Part of me planned to finish this series this year but we’re 9 months in and I just don’t have the energy anymore you know. I will read this before I got to my grave I just don’t know when that will be.

I know these are all insanely popular series so this probably wasn’t the most interesting post but as always I’m behind on the times. I’m out of synch with the cool kids but what’s new. Thanks for reading.

  1. I’m exactly the same with Vampire Academy. I read the first four books and then never picked it up again, but I’m thinking of finishing it next year.

I’m about to start rereading the Throne of Glass and I really can’t recommend it enough but with some series it’s like people either love them or hate them, and if you’re not into it then there are a ton of other great books out there for you to read!

    1. Yeah I’m definitely considering picking Vampire Academy back up again, even though I will have to re-purchase book 1.
It’s not that I’m not enjoy ToG it’s just that each book is bigger and bigger then the last and I’m a commitment-phobe when it comes to big books. Hopefully I’ll find the motivation soon.

  2. At least you’re on Empire Of Storms. I only read the first 3 books and at this point, I forgot a lot of details so I need to reread them. as soon as I purchase the rest of the books in the series I’m going to read it.

    1. I know😭 procrastination is just so deeply rooted in my sense of being that I can’t. (also the ones I have left to read are some big boys and i’m scared of commiting to a big book lol)

  3. All of these series sound great. I really want to read the DC Icons books. I just haven’t had a chance to get to them yet. I’d read anything Cassandra Clare writes, so I’m sure that series is good. I have The Kane Chronicles on my kindle and I like the author, but I haven’t gotten to them either. There’s just too many books, you know? Sorry for the rant. Great post!

    1. Oh I get you. My TBR is longer then my life expentancy.
I finished Batman today and it was actually really quite good. I think the 1st 2 might end up being the best but obviously I cant say for sure yet.
Again, same. Cassandra Clare owns my ass. She could write a full length novel about a duck chasing a Herondale and I would pay good money 🙂

  4. It’s apparent that the author is a data geek. I like the way he writes and organizes facts.
It is always such a pleasure to read posts created by real professionals, like I’m fed up with all that no-name, ghostwritten articles.
That’s why it was so pleasant to take a look at a persuasive piece.
I see the writer has ground knowledge it the topic
in addition to some practical experience. Such kind of information is always more valuable than copypasted blog
    posts ideas.
