Top 5 2020 Releases I’m already excited for!

aaaa

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday 🙂

Someone needs to come and stop me because this is getting ridiculous. I haven’t even read all the 2019 releases I wanted to yet and yet here I am with a list of releases for next year that I’m already inanely excited about and my savings cannot handle this!

Since there’s no official Top 5 Tuesday topic this week I thought I’d go ahead and talk about my top 5 most anticipated releases for 2020 🙂

The Love Hypothesis by Laura Steven

Release Date: March 5th 2020

So I have read and loved Laura Stevens first YA books The Exact Opposite of Okay. I’ve talked at length on this blog about my love for them and so imagine my excitement when I find out she’s releasing another YA novel, this one following a bisexual physics genius who has a dog named Sirius. Laura Steven seems to like giving her main characters dogs named after Harry Potter characters and I love that.

(The character could be better but I’m not judging the book by it’s cover)

Loveless by Alice Oseman

Release Date: April 30th 2020

I made a whole post about how excited I am about this novel. I still have yet to read a whole novel by Alice Oseman, excluding Heartstopper her extremely adorable graphic novel series, but I have faith.

This  follows the main character Georgia who is asexual/aromantic and I don’t know more then that but it’s all I need to know to immediately buy the book.

One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus

Release Date:January 7th 2020

Okay so this is a sequel or maybe a companion novel to the popular One of us is Lying which I read 2 years ago when it came out and enjoyed.

I’m excited for this but I’m also nervous. What I really loved about book 1 was the characters, more specifically Bronwyn and Nate who I 100% shipped. However … I’m not sure if this follows the original characters?

So I’m a mix of happy because I really like McManus’ way of writing thrillers, they very much remind me of over dramatic CW shows but I’m nervous because am I going to like it?

The Ballads of Song Birds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

46346381._SY475_

Release Date: May 19th 2020

I thought I was long over the Hunger Games phase but apparently not. This series gives me anxiety. Like full on knot in my chest, feeling uncomfortable while I read but I know that I will most definitely be reading this.

Untitled Fence Novel by Sarah Rees Brennan

36373825

Release Date: September 1st 2020

I’ve literally only read the first volume but this series reminds me so much of All For the Game. I don’t know why. I think it’s just because of the whole “obscure sports, underdogs and gays” thing.

So there we go, five books already on my TBR for 2020. I’ve done a really good job keeping up with 2019 releases for the first time ever so hopefully I’ll be able to do the same next year.

I’ll probably end up writing another post about my definite most anticipated releases closer to the start of the year but for now these are the ones I’m super excited about. Thank you for reading 🙂

  1. Jesus 2020 is already making me go nuts!
I knew about The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but I had no idea that a sequel to One of Us Is Lying is coming out!
Also, I had no idea about the new Alice Oseman book but thank you for making me scream about it!
