I’m a genius. Absolute Albert Einstein type. I bought books to celebrate surviving my first week of school … and now, because of school, I have absolutely no time to read them. So smart.
Anyways, here are the four books that I’ll say I’m going to read before I go to bed but end up getting so caught up in school work and then I pass out without even picking it up.
Only Ashes Remain by Rebecca Schaeffer- This is the sequel to one of my favourites from this year: Not Even Bones. This series is gruesome and weird and totally different to anything I’ve read before and I’m so excited to read this. It follows a girl who dissects the bodies of supernatural creatures before her mum sells them off on the black market. So exited to pick this up!
These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling– I mentioned that I’m planning on reading this book this month because its about witches. LGBT+ witches at that and I think it’s going to be a super fun read for Halloween. Literally all I know about this is that it features lesbian witches and like I said in my TBR it’s the only reason I need to pick it up.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson- I’ve talked about being interested in this a fair few times now and I finally bought it. This book deals with some pretty heavy subjects so I think I’m going to have to be in the mood to read it and it definitely can’t be during exam season which tbh is an eternal season so who knows …
Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab- Already read this! Already really enjoyed it although I didn’t think it was as good as book 1. I loved being back with Cassidy and her relationship with Jacob. I did a whole book review for it if you want to read it 🙂
I mean I’ve read one of these already and I’m planning on reading another so really it’s not too bad but also why did I think buying books was going to make me feel better about going back to school? It’s just going to make me feel guilty when I don’t read them because I prioritise studying or sleeping.
Anyways, at least the pretty covers look nice on my shelves. Thank you for reading 🙂
