Reader Problems // Book Tag

large (1)

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I am short on time and short on post ideas so we’re doing a tag. Wooo! I wasn’t tagged. I never am but does that stop me? Of course not.

Today we’re doing the Readers Problem Book Tag which I saw Sara @ The Bibliophagist do recently. There’s a small chance I’ve done this book tag before but, again, that’s not going to stop me because I have literature and French homework waiting for me and a Latin exam to study for so let’s just jump right in:

🌼You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?🌼

First thing first: if I had 20,000 books on my TBR that would be heaven but also my anxiety levels would be high!

As for how I’d decide on what to pick up next it would definitly just be a decision based off what I gravitate more towards.

🌼You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?🌼

It genuinely depend on what mood I’m in. Usually if that’s the case I’ll put the book down but will still class it as ‘currently reading’ until about 3 months later when I remember I havent picked it up in so long.

However if it’s a book I am completely hating with every fibre of my being then there’s a high chance I’m staying up till 3am to finish that book out of pure anger and the need to finish so that I can rant. I’ve done this multiple times before.

🌼The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?🌼

I definitly won’t consciously go out of my way to catch up but I’d probably “cheat” and read as many graphic novels and short books as I can to make myself feel better about my challenge failure.

🌼The covers of a series you love do not match. How do you cope?🌼

If this is in regards to the fact that I own a series with different, non-matching covers then I cope by: complaining about it every chance I get and yet doing absolutely nothing to change it.

🌼Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?🌼

My own brain. I’m a lonely, friendless person 🙂 Or, the more accurate, less sad answer is that I find people online who also aren’t a fan and enjoy ranting and raving and discussing with them.

🌼You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?🌼

I have never cried at a book in public. At home in my room and my parents walked in on me sobbing yes I have done but never in public. The only other place I read is in school and I’d rather die then show weakness infront of my peers so crying at fictional characters is definitely out.

🌼A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?🌼

Probably tell myself I’m going to re-read book one but never do meaning I end up crying in frustration.

🌼You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?🌼

I don’t. I just don’t bring up the subject again and hope they’ve forgotten about it and then if they do ask again I hand over my book with a “farewell” and maybe a few tears knowing full well I’m probably never going to see that book again because my friends don’t understand the meaning of “borrowing“.

🌼You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?🌼

I play a whole lot of Sims until I’m fed up with potty training the toddlers and reading a book seems appealing again.

Or I binge watch YouTube in the hopes that people talking about books gets my brain working back to how it should.

Or finally, and the most stupid/likely answer is … I buy new books.

🌼There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?🌼

I am but a poor high school student so I only buy the ones that I am absolutely dying to read … or that are cheap. I’ve actually bought and read so many new releases this year. I’m quite proud.

🌼After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?🌼

Either the moment the post man delivers them or a shamefully long time.

If anyone wants to do this tag then go ahead. It was actually really fun. Sadly I’ve now got to go and tackle my homework pile. Thank you for reading 🙂
