My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Scammed is the bigger and better sequel to last years The Deceivers a book bursting with drama set at an elite boarding school for scammers and con artists.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of The Deceivers last year and I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t think much of it. I thought the overall concept was interesting but it took a while to get into and I wanted more drama, more actin and scandal. It was also pretty forgettable as I discovered before going into the sequel that I barely remembered anything.

And so imagine my surprise when I ended up loving Scammed. I’ve wanted to talk about this book for a couple of days now but with two big exams on the horizon I just haven’t had time (technically I should eb studying right now but …)

This book did a really good job at refreshing my memory in the first few chapters and bringing me back up to speed on all important details. I quickly fell into the story and the plot.

My critism of book 1’s lack of action was definitely a thing of the past as this book had lots of twists and turns proving for an intriguing read.

Something I enjoyed about this book was the romance. The main character Brynn is crushing on fellow student Caleb however they must keep their relationship secrete as Brynn is under orders to get close to a politicians son who definitely has a thing for her. This dynamic made for a sort of love triangle with a twist in that two characters were madly in love but had to pretend not to be because of a third party.

I really loved the characters in general in this novel. I feel like thy were all well developed which is impressive considering there is quite a large cast. I found myself invested in the relationship of two side characters and there were side characters I just wanted to love and protect.

Overall i really enjoyed this book more then I ever expected to and I do plan on reading the third and what I’m guessing is going to be the final book whether I’m lucky enough to receive an ARC or not. I’m really interested in seeing how the story wraps up and what happens to the characters. I also plan on hopefully re-reading book 1 before hand so my terrible memory doesn’t let me down again.
