Things I’m enjoying about lockdown // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hello and happy Tuesday 🙂

I’m going to be real with you, I barely know what day it is anymore. Time is becoming meaningless and I barely know what’s going on anymore.

I live in Spain and over here we’ve been on lockdown since I think around the middle of March and it was meant to last two weeks, fast forward to now and the lockdown has been extended until the 26th of April.😂

I feel like I’m handling it well. I’m keeping myself entertained, my anxiety has miraculously been kept at bay and there haven’t been many arguments. My years of living an introverted life are coming in handy.

Today’s Top 5 Tuesday topic is continuing to look on the bright side and talk about what we’re enjoying about lockdown.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm

Unlimited Reading Time

original

I was expecting to barely read anything in March because I should have been drowning in exams and anxiety. Instead I read 9 books because exams got cancelled and I became incredibly motivated to read everything and anything. Its nice to be able to dedicate whole days to reading if I want. Its also nice to be able to read long into the night if I want because I don’t need to wake up early.

Home-school

lol

Don’t get me wrong I’m still not a fan of school and I’ve still been getting stressed but I’m liking this home school schedule.

I wake up at like 10, have a nice shower, make myself a cup of tea and do my homework due for that day before having class for two hours with my Latin & Greek teacher over WhatsApp.

I’ve got a week off now for Easter but I’m liking being able to stay in my pyjamas, drink however many cups of tea as I want and being able to do the work in my own time.

Also thanks to exams being cancelled I past a class I was 100% going to fail otherwise which is a bonus.

Netflix

When the lockdown was extended another two weeks the first time around, the first thing my dad did was finally get us a Netflix account and oh my god it’s amazing!

I’ve watched a bunch of things already but mainly I’ve been watching Brooklynn 99 which I’ve only ever watched out of order when it comes on TV. I even started watching Gossip Girl at midnight!

I’ve got a whole bunch of series and movies I wanna take advantage and watch including: (finishing) Sex Education, La Casa de Papel, Elite, Derry Girls, The Politician.

Reccomendations are appreciated.

Family Time

sticth

My dad is a lorry driver so he works all over Europe for weeks at a time and normally only gets a few days home between trips. He got home literally only days before the lockdown was put into place. He’s never been home this long so it’s been nice to have him around. We’ve all been playing Uno and Monopoly and getting drunk together before lunch.

I’ve also been talking a lot more to other family members like my aunt and my grandparents. My 5 year old sister skyped me the other day and was showing me her doll house (even though she didn’t have the camera on and I couldn’t see anything).

Planning for life post-lockdown

lllooollll

I don’t actually know how long this lockdown is going to last but I’m making plans already including getting drunk with my best friend, going down to the beach for ice-cream, going to see my family in England, a haircut (I’m desperate for a haircut).

I’m even low-key looking forward to getting back to school (which is crazy) and I can’t wait for when the bar I work in can open again.

Everything that is happening right now is totally crazy but I’m going to try and look on the bright side as much as possible and keep myself busy with sleeping and reading to keep that anxiety down.

I’d love to hear how you’re keeping sane these days. Thanks for reading and stay safe!

  1. Catching up on all the other T5T posts, better late than never, eh?! 😉
I’m glad Shanah is doing these topics this month, we all need some happy distractions at the moment. I’m enjoying all the extra reading time and love having my family home. I’m glad you’re keeping sane, I’m getting too used to getting up late – heaven help me when things open up again and I have to get up at 6am again! 😉
    Stay safe & healthy. x
