Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.
I made an Oreo brownie earlier today, I’ve just had some and I’m 96% sure I’m about to slip into a chocolate induced nap so I’m going to try and speed through this as quick as.
Today I’m going to be talking about the movies and tv shows I’ve been watching recently, and by recently I mean since Spanish lockdown went into effect.
My dad actually got us Netflix about a week into lockdown and let’s just say it’s thanks to Netflix that we haven’t had any giant family fights.
Five Feet Apart (2019)- I read this book first and I cried. And then I watched the movie. And I cried. This was a case of me enjoying the movie as much as I liked the book.
D.E.B.S (2004)- WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THIS EXISTED!! Ok so this is a movie all about a spy and a criminal falling in love except THEY’RE BOTH GIRLS AND IT’S HILARIOUS AND I LOVE IT! It reminds me of Charlies Angels but a lesbian romantic comedy.
The Mortal Instruments (2013)- OMG the nostalgia of watching this movie was insane. I remember watching this as a kid way before the movies. This is the only version of the story where I can actually stand Clary and it’s not perfect (why the fuck do they all have british accents. I’m not complaining but whyyy?) but I love it.
Bad Boys Trilogy (1995, 2003 & 2020)- Me and my parents had a movie day where we watched all three Bad Boys movies even if I did only watch the third movie a couple of months ago. These are the movies of my childhood!
You could say they were too violent for a child which explains a lot about me now. There’s obviously going to be a fourth movie. There needs to be a fourth movie even if it’s just cause I have a minor crush on the new character.
Knives Out (2019)- This movie was so good!! I think it’s become one of my favourite movies ever. I gotta admit I came for post-Captain-America Chris Evans but I stayed because it was amazing.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)- I’ve watched all the movies in this universe and this one was pretty “meh”. It wasn’t scary because you could tell whenever something was about to happen. My mum, however, screamed but that’s because she’s a wuss. She also screamed when my dog started barking though so she’s not the best judge of horror.
Series I Started:
- Dare Me – Season 1: This is a Netflix series about cheerleaders and I was invested. There’s something darker at play but you don’t know what and there’s hints of f/f but I’m thinking that might be explored more in season 2.
- Brooklyn 99 – Season 1 & 2: I have been flying through B99 so fast. I’m hoping to catch up on the whole series before *spoilers* Jack and Amy’s baby is born. I’ve only ever watched this out of order so it’s fun to watch it cronologically.
- Hemlock Grove – Season 1: Ok so technically I haven’t finished this yet. I’ve got like 3 or 4 episodes left but God this series is wierd. Someones pregnant with an angel baby, there’s like a werewolf who rips his skin off and the clown guy from IT is the main character and I can’t tell if he’s a good guy or not. I’m confused, distrubed but still wierdly intrigued.
- I caved and started watching Gossip Girl: I have a small tolerance for this show. The characters annoy me. The plots annoy me. I don’t understand why anyone likes Chuck. His wardrobe is almost as offensive as his personality. I’m watching like 1 episode a day cause I’m bored.
So that’s everything that I’ve been watching recently. I would highly recommend Knives Out and Dare Me. If anyone has any recommendations I’d love to know. I’m making the most of this unlimited tv time while I can.
Thanks for reading and stay safe.
