#StayHomeReadingRush Wrap Up

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

stayhomeThe weekend happened. It went by fast but maybe that’s because I have no concept of time at this point. Fun.

Anyways the #StayHomeReadingRush happened this weekend too and I participated. It was a super last minute decision and I had homework to catch up on because even though I have nothing to do all day I’m still stuck in my procrastinating ways.

I had hoped to read three books this weekend and I finished two. I’m pretty happy with that. Sure it’s not the best but it was fun and I’m gonna wrap the weekend up and make it seem slightly more interesting then it actually was.

Day One

I tried to get a head start on the Reading Rush. As soon as the clock hit midnight I picked up Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordanyeah I read 10 pages before my eyes got heavy and I could barely see the words (and then spent a half hour on my phone but that’s not important).

That morning I woke up with 👏motivation👏, something that never happens. Ever.

Me doing my homework lasted a whole lot longer then I planned and longer then it probably should have. I wasn’t lying when I said I get distracted waayyyyyy too easily but as a reward I let myself read a chapter every half an hour.

Overall I read 100 pages of Lightning Thief and got all my homework in so really the day was a success.

Day Two

My goal for day two was to finish Percy Jackson and I DID! I got a late start and I lowkey wanted to spend my day watching Teen Wolf but I didn’t and I read and I finished it. Yay.

This completed the challenge: READ A BOOK WITH A HOUSE ON THE COVER! (I’m classing apartments in the distant New York sky-line as houses).

A summary of my night includes:

  • Planned to read Me by Elton John.
  • Actually started The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakovic for the fourth time because I am trash.
  • Got distracted watching America’s Next Top Model videos on Youtube.
  • Ended up reading 100+ pages of TFC then fell asleep.

Day Three

Saturdays goal was to finish The Foxhole Court. I was going to get on this right away but instead I may or may not have gotten side-tracked and spent all day watching High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and re-living my childhood.

(No joke but this was actually pretty good.)

I did commit eventually though and I sat and I read all evening finally finishing The Foxhole Court for the fourth time with thirty minutes to spare before midnight to complete the challenge: READ A BOOK THAT WILL MAKE YOU SMILE! (this definitly made me smile. and laugh. and shake my head in dismay because these characters share 1 braincell)

The best part was that I had a reading buddy the whole night

TBH he was more a hindrance then a help. He kept stealing my spot and kicking me.

Day Four

Yeahhhhhhh this day was terrible. I read approximately nothing.

I did try and start Geekerella by Ashley Poston but I didn’t make it past the first page. I also got Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan off my shelf but I didn’t even open the book. And I did consider picking up The Raven King by Nora Sakovic but I just didn’t.

Instead I moped about the house. Spent half an hour trying to kill one of my Sims (he freaking came back to life! that’s not what I wanted!). Wacthed Teen Wolf and B99 all night. Did my homework at like 11pm. Watched more B99. Scrolled on my phone till I was too tired to see.

I wanted to read more then what I did but I have fun with what I read. If this was #WatchB99For4DaysStraight I totally would have won. Technically I finished all the challenges because:

  • READ A BOOK IN THE SAME ROOM THE WHOLE TIME: I read both of these in my room.
  • READ A BOOK SET SOMEWHERE YOU WISH YOU COULD GO: I want to go to NewYork/Camp Half Blood/America in general which is where Percy Jackson is set.

I’d love to know how everyone else did this weekend and what you read. Stay safe people.

Elli xx
