Hello and happy Tuesday 🙂
I’m stressed right now and it’s all my tutor/lengua teachers fault. Its not the homework or worring about grades it the fact that the dude keeps posting updates on our Classroom IN ALL CAPS!!!! Literally a paragraph screaming at us about something so mundane.I feel like commenting “calm down my dude”
expect I would never do that because I’m socially inept and have spoken like … 3 words to the guy in 2 years of having him as a teacher.
Anyways. Now that I’ve got that mini rant out of my system I’m going to talk about something calming: books!
Todays Top 5 Tuesday topic is all about Series I Want to Start and I’ve got to admit I found this pretty hard. I’m trying not to start too many series because there’s so many others I actually need to finish.
Sidekick Squad by C.B Lee
I have been dying to get my eyeballs on this book for what feels like forever and I am so excited because literally this past weekend I got myself the e-book of this!!! This books is about superheroes and I know it has lgbt+ characters although I can’t remember the exact rep. I think it’s f/f and that just makes me so excited. This is a four book series I believe and I’ve heard really good things. I’m actually planning on reading this in June for pride month because like I said LGBTQ rep. I’m very excited for this!
The Last Hours by Cassandra Clare
I actually wasn’t planning on starting this series for a while but I have been enjoying my re-read of The Infernal Devices a lot more then I expected to and so pair that with the rave reviews I’ve been seeing for this …
Yeah I bought the book the other day and it’s due to get here by next week. I really didn’t mean to but I felt like I was missing out on the hype AND! it was only 8€ which for a giant Cassie Clare book like this is a BARGAIN! So yeah … I plan on reading this next month after finishing Clockwork Princess.
Scholomance by Naomi Novik
I’ve never before been interested in Noviks other super popular books (Uprooted and Spinning Silver). They’ve just not been my kind of book but this new series of hers sounds so cool.
I don’t know how many books there’s going to be, all I know is that it’s set at “a school for the magically gifted where failure means certain death (for real)”. I gotta admit that the beautiful cover did sway my interest too but I feel like the overall plot paired with Noviks writing which I’ve heard great things of, is going to be a recipe for something great. Sadly this doesn’t come out til September (maybe later with everything happening rn) but I can’t wait.
Simon Snow by Rainbow Rowell
I told myself that I was going to read Carry On this year and I’m finally taking the steps towards accomplishing that goal! This was another case of OMG it’s so cheap I have to buy it because for 4€ I couldn’t not!
I’m nervous for this just because it is so wildly popular and because I didn’t like Fangirl which I thought I would and obviously this is the fanfic of that book but I do have plans to read it in June, again, for pride month.
The Extraordinaries by T.J Klune
Ok so. There’s a possibility this might not be a series. I looked on goodreads and it has the tell tale (#1) implying it’s the first book in a series but when I click on that it only shows 1 work and no untitles sequel listed so I don’t know what to believe.
Going under the presumption this is the beginning of a new series though: I am excited for this. It’s superheroes and LGBTQ+ representation. I don’t know if you’ve guessed but I like those two combinations.
This book comes out in July (I think that’s still the case I’m not sure) and I plan on reading it in June because I actually was lucky enough to get an ARC which is fun. Like with the rest of the books on this list, I’m excited to read this.
So there we go, those are four series and one maybe series I’m looking forward to starting. If everything goes as I’ve planned it I should be reading four of these in the next two months. I hope that is the case because I genuinely am excited.
If you’ve read any of these I’d love to know your thoughts on and feelings cause I’m
nosy inquisitive like that. Thanks for reading and stay safe!
