I have a problem. My teacher has moved our virtual classes to 9am. This is bad. Its been a struggle waking up at past ten 10 since lockdown started so waking up before 9 and being ready to analyse and translate Latin is going to be hard. 😭 (It also means I’m going to have to do my homework the night before and not ten minutes before class *sigh*)
Anyways lets jump into what I’ve stayed up really late watching recently which subsequently stopped me from waking up at a decent hour!
The Haunting of Hill House (2018) – I watched this series over the span of two nights and cried at near enough every episode. I think there was 2 (out of 10) episodes I didn’t cry at. This series was so good! Not as scary as I was expecting but I loved the characters (except Steve. I didn’t like Steve) and I can’t wait to watch the spin off/companion(?) series.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2019)– AKA the series with the longest name ever. My expectations were low. I swore to myself when this was first announced that I wasn’t going to watch it but …. lockdown happened and I was BORED! This was actually, surprisingly good. It was funny, heartwarming and had plenty of nostalgia but it was selfaware making it pretty great in it’s own right. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was looking forward to season 2.
The Covenant (2006)– I saw this on Netflix and was like “why not”. This was super cheesey and very 2006 but featured a young Sebastian Stan and also the guy who played Nate Archibald! so that was fun.
Happiness Continues (2020)– So this is the second Jonas brothers documentary. The first was Happiness Begins which follows the band as they’re getting back together and talking about the past. This is the follow up kind of showing them on their tour and stuff. It was good. I was sat in my seat dancing to the songs.
October Faction: Season 1 (2020)- This series is about a family and the parents are part of this organization that kills supernatural creatures. This was … ok. Nothing special. I’m intrigued. I’d watch a season 2.
Onward (2020)– I have been looking forward to this movie for a while and it didn’t disappoint. The character Tom Holland voices IS LITERALLY TOM HOLLAND IN BLUE SKINNED ELF FORM. It’s creepy but this movie was good.
Avalon High (2010)– I have weird ideas at 2am and a recent sleep deprived idea was that I would watch a whole bunch of DCOM movies and review them so I started by watching Avalon High. This was funny. I thought it was going to be a nice walk down memory lane, I literally remember this advertising on Disney Channel, but the cringe was real😂
The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018)– This was good. The plot is in the title. Mila Kunis is dumped by a spy. Her and her best friend get tangled in spy shit and headto Europe where they’re tortured by a Russian gymnast.
Fallen (2016)– I laughed through 99% of this. Even writing this and remembering the bad CGI and cringey lines is making me crack up.
So that is everything that I’ve watched recently.
I need recommendations. I’m low on things to watch. I know I need to re-watch The Umbrella Academy before season 2 comes out but other then that I don’t know. Help me plsss.
Thank you for reading and stay safe!
