Hellooo 🙂 I’m tired today. I hosted an impromptu “party” last night and you’d think a couple of seventeen and eighteen year olds being left home alone with alcohol would have a rager but instead we stayed up till 2am playing Monopoly, hence the being tired today😂
Anyways today I’m going to be talking about all the books I’m planning on reading in June. I read 10 books last month and I’m planning to keep that momentum going. June is pride month and so just like last year I really want to read a whole lot of books with LGBT+ characters and plots.
The first book I’m planning on reading this month is Deck of Omens by Christine Lynn Herman. I read The Devouring Gray a couple of months ago and I’ve been looking forward to the sequel for a while. The reason I’m reading this in June, besides from being excited, is that it has bisexual rep and I’m really hoping my OTP becomes cannon .
I’m really hoping to read Ghosts of the Shadowmarket by Cassandra Clare & friends over the month. I’m still on a Shadowhunter high so my plan is to slowly make my way through the novella bind ups, starting with this one solely for the Brother Zachariah content.
Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian is a book I was meant to pick up last month but I’m scared of emotions and I’m 99.9% sure this book is going to make me cry, hence why I’ve not picked it up yet. I’m really going to buckle down this month and read it. I swear.
I’ve been re-reading the Percy Jackson series recently and it’s been a whole lot of fun so I’m kinda sad to say that I’m going to be reading The Last Olympian this month. I’m not ready for this re-read to be over 😭
Me by Elton John has been on a fair few of my TBRs this year but when it came down to it I just didn’t feel like the right time. Again though I swear I’m going to read this!!!
The final physical book on my TBR this month is Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I only got this recently but I’ve been meaning to read it for a while. I’m kind of hesitant about this, even though I really want to like it like so many people do, I’m not sure. I guess we’ll see.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of The Extraordinaries by T.J Klune and I am very excited! I barely know anything about this besides it being about superheroes and lgbt+ characters but I’m looking forward to reading it.
I’ve had my eye on Not Your Sidekick by C.B Lee for so long and I finally just gave in and bought the e-book a couple of weeks ago. This is another book with superheroes and lgbt+ characters so clearly I have a theme going on this month. I’m really hoping this is good!!!
And the final book I want to read this month is Tell Me Again How A Crush Should Feel by Sara Farizan. This was on my TBR last year but as always is the case … I never picked it up because I’m terrible. (I also don’t remember what this is about besides a possible f/f romance because I have the memory of a goldfish)
Now that I’m looking at this all written out I’m thinking I’m going to have a busy month. It’ll be fine. Super fine. A fun time.
I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these and what you’re planning on reading this month! Thanks for reading and stay safe!!
