Hi and hello and welcome to my blog 🙂
I am here today with a celebratory book haul because not only have I completed another year of school but I passed all my classes!!! And I made it through the year without crying my eyes out on the bathroom floor. This is a big deal for me😂.
This year was my first year of college and back in September I was so nervous. Last year school was really hard for me, I was anxious 98% of the time and skipped a lot of school because of it so I was really scared I was gonna have a repeat of all that.
I’ve been living and obviously studying in Spain for nearly 8 years now but I’m still super self conscious about speaking Spanish. I like to think that I’m a pretty smart person but I feel like that smartness doesn’t translate which is why I’m so happy I passed all of my classes with really good grades this time around. (The however many months of online school has helped boost my grades considerably but I’m taking the win anyways).
And so because of all of this I bought myself some books, because of course I did.
I have been a huge fan of Jennifer Lynn Barnes for years now. It was her series, The Naturals, that got me hooked into YA and so I finally bought The Fixer which follows a girl called Tess who I believe moves to D.C to live with her sister who is an famous “fixer” to the elite and powerful.
I’ve been hesitant to pick up this series because I know the there was supposed to be a third book that was never released but I finally bit the bullet and got it. I’m planning to read this in July, maybe for the upcoming Reading Rush because it fits for a couple of the challenges.
Last year I recieved an ARC of Tweet Cute by Emma Lord and I really enjoyed this YA contemporary novel all about grilled cheeses and twitter wars. I enjoyed it so much that I had to have my own copy. If you’re interested I have a review for this which you can read HERE.
Supernova by Marissa Meyer is the third and final book to the Renegades trilogy which I started reading this year and have been really liking. I gotta admit that I’m pretty scared and apprehensive about this conclusion. I’ve heard it’s pretty disappointing so … To be honest just I’ll be happy if my ship sails.
I found out about Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds recently and it sounded so cool. From what I can gather it’s YA a romance with time travel aspects which is always something I’m down to read so I’m hoping I like this.
And finally I bought Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde. This is actually a lot shorter then I thought which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’m still kind of blurry on the overall synopsis but I know it revolves around a convention and …. vloggers??? And I know there’s some bisexual representation. Overall I’m really looking forward to reading this.
I’m hoping to get to all of these as soon as. Next year is my final year of college before heading off to university so I’m trying to read as much as I can this summer before getting swamped with school work.
It’s also going to be my last year of living in Spain which is kind of sad because I’ll be moving back to England for university. Part of me thinks I should stop buying books because I obviously can’t take them all with me … the other part of me thinks I should go wild while I can afford it and have the space lol.
I’d love to know if you’ve read any of these and what you thought! Thank you for reading and stay safe!!
