My Reading Rush 2020 T.B.R

Hi, hello and howdy :))

Last year I failed the Reading Rush. This year I’m planning on failing it again because 7 books in 7 days is not possible for me and my bad habits of procrastination and being easily distracted.

This time around I have 4 books on my TBR that I’m hoping to read but looking at it now I don’t know how many I’ll actually get around to.

My dad has been away working for near on ten weeks now and he’s finally coming home on Wednesday which is great, I’m excited to see him, but it means we’ve got lots of plans cause he’s only home ten days so reading won’t be my top priority.

Challenges.

The challenges are actually kind of hard this year and it took me a hot minute to decide on my TBR and even now there’s a chance it might change cause I’m indecisive :))

  1. Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birthstone.
  2. Read a book that starts with the word “The”.
  3. Read a book inspired by a movie you’ve already seen
  4. Read the first book you touch.
  5. Read a book completely outside your house.
  6. Read a book in a genre that you’ve always wanted to read more of.
  7. Read a book that takes place in a different continent then where you live.

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I have been binging Jennifer Lynn Barnes books this month and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

This book is about a girl who moves to D.C and I believe she becomes a “Fixer” for the capitals elite and powerful. The premise reminds me of the show Scandal which I really liked so that paired with my love of Barnes’ books gives me high hopes.

  • Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birthstone – I was born in early August so, according to Google, my birthstone is Peridot which is a green colour. This isn’t the greenish of greens but I’m bending the rules because I can/
  • Read a book that starts with the word “The”.
  • Read a book that takes place in a different continent then where you live – I live in Europe. This takes place in America like most of the books on my shelves.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

This has been on two TBRs already so maybe this month will be the month. I’m hoping so because I’m fed up of being out of the loop when it comes to this book and this series.

  • Read a book inspired by a movie you’ve already seen – Wow. Me cheating. Again. What a surprise. So while there isn’t a Carry On movie this book is kind of based off Harry Potter, in a way. And since I’ve seen the Harry Potter movies I feel no shame in using this book to fulfil this prompt especially since I have no other book that fits.

Shades of Love by Catarine Hancock

I’ve been trying to slowly read more poetry recently and because I don’t really know where to start I’ve been reading ARCs of poetry collections. Some I’ve liked more then others. I’m hoping this is one I’ll enjoy.

  • Read a book in a genre that you’ve always wanted to read more of.

The Falling in Love Montage by

Can you believe I’ve written three different posts about my anticipated 2020 releases and yet I’ve only read 4 books I mentioned so this is me crossing off another one. This book is an f/f romance following a girl called Saoirse who has sworn off dating until she meets Ruby who almost dares her into a summer romance.

I’m really excited to read this.

  • Read a book that starts with the word “The”.
  • Read a book completely outside your house – I may be going to the beach one day next week (I’ll be maintaining social distancing while I’m there) so if that is the case this could be the book I read.

If by some miracle I have time to read more books then for Read the first book you touch I’m going to write a bunch of e-books down on some paper, mix them up, and the first one title I pick up will be the one I try and read.

So that’s my TBR for the Reading Rush. I’ve really been on a roll lately, I’ve read 6 books already this month so I’m hoping I can keep this momentum and do amazing in this readathon.

Are you planning on participating in this years Reading Rush? What are you going to read? I’d love to know! Thanks for reading and stay safe.

    1. I’m doing surprisingly well with the readathon so far! I’ve read 3 books and I’m planning on starting The Falling In Love Montage tonight! I’ve heard good things too so I’m hoping to enjoy it.
      Hows it going for you?
