Hi and howdy!
I have no life. Partly because there’s still a pandemic going on, partly because I’m a socially anxious introvert. Because of these two things I read a lot and I also watch a lot of TV shows and movies … or at least I try to. It usually takes me a while to finish things but I’ve done quite well recently of finishing what I’ve started and I’m here to talk about those shows/movies today :))
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – Season 3
There’s every possibility that I never actually finished Season 2 but that didn’t stop me from watching the third part of this series. I just made sure to watch a couple of recap videos beforehand and I was good to go.
I really liked this third season and demolished it in two days, it was probably my favourite of the entire series. I liked Sabrina juggling being a teenager, a witch and then trying to become the freaking queen of Hell ontop of all that. Prudence was a badass, Ambrose was the only one with a brain cell, the whole thing with the Pagans was pretty cool.
After all of this I thought season 4 was going to be amazing. It was not …
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – Season 4
The first couple of episodes started off strong and I was excited and then …. cannibalism happened and it went down hill so fast.
This fourth season reminded me why I rarely finish TV shows. It’s because it always so underwhelming, so out of left field, never makes any sense and always disappoints me!!!
I was so pissed that I ranted to my mum about it for days. She had no idea what I was talking about but I really appreciated the support she provided with her uninterested “humming” and “oh-ing”.
Tiny Pretty Things
Thanks to one night when I was ridiculously anxious and couldn’t sleep I watch all of Tiny Pretty Things and you know what, it did the job.
Please do not watch this with your parents or with young children around because there’s a whole lot of sex scenes and even more shots of bare naked bums. I diverted my school related anxiety towards being anxious that someone was going to walk in mid way through something 😂.
I liked the characters, the dancing and the murder stuff. However, the romances did come out of nowhere. They’d mention being in love and my first reaction would be “when the fuck did this happen?” because they’d barely interacted but it was good and I will watch a season 2.
Wonder Woman 1984
Was anyone else kind of … underwhelmed by this movie?? I loved the first one and this second installment was interesting enough but mostly it was kind of “meh”.
My mum was sick for nearly a week so a movie afternoon was much needed and I convinced my mum and brother to watch this one. It’s got that right blend of funny but meaningful and I’m probably gonna watch it over and over again in the future.
Also the movies features a dog called Meatball, Octavia Spencer being a badass and the women from Shameless who plays Sheila.
It took me a while to get around to watching it but once again my mum being sick lead to us watching it and it was pretty good. I’ve only just realised that it was the first (and so far) only thing I’ve watched featuring Millie Bobby Brown which is crazy considering how popular she is.
I wanted to punch Mycroft Holmes for the majority of this movie which I think is what the directors wanted so good on them.
Fate: The Winx Club Saga
Ahhh the show that could have been so much more. The costumes and the overall vibes is what gets me the most. Think of the outfits we could have had if they hadn’t gone the “dark and gritty” route. 😭I didn’t grow up watching the cartoon like a lot of people, I was more of a power-rangers kid, but still even I’m bummed.
And I don’t want to bash on the cast, they’re just doing their job and to be honest, round of applause for them for keeping a straight face while having deep conversations using names like “Bloom” and “Sky” (although I guess that’s what most nursery classrooms are like these days), but the representation could have and should have been better. It’s 2021 can we please stop with the whitewashing.
I’m also very made this got renewed before Julie and the Phantoms but that’s beside the point.
I have been begging the universe for more shows set in the UK with characters who don’t have stereotypical Tory sounding accents and when I finally got that!!!
Another plus was that it was actually good. I’ve seen little to no advertisements for this series so let me give you the run down: four girls form a secrete group called DGM to get revenge and make things right at their school but then a popular boy they were planning on getting back at is killed and their group is framed for his murder.
I really liked this. I want a season 2. Go watch it!!!
9-1-1 and also 9-1-1: Lone Star
These shows have been flooding my Tumblr dash for months now and I finally got around to watching them only because I wanted some context and now I have a new favourite show!
Is it bad that I watched three seasons and a bit seasons of 9-1-1 and then one and a bit seasons of 9-1-1: Lone Star in less then a week? The answer is definitely yes but I don’t even mind because I’m officially obsessed with these shows.
Now You See Me & Now You See Me 2
I convinced my brother to watch my favourite movies when they finally showed up on Netflix and he’s worse then me. He finished the second movie in the morning and then we watched both of them later on in the evening with our mum.
Magicians committing crimes and messing with the FBI. You love to see it. I especially love to see it because I’ve watched these movies a lot. Still not so patiently awaiting the third movie though.
So there’s everything I’ve been watching recently. The only thing I’ve left off is Wandavision because if I start talking about that you’ll never get me to shut up.
If you’ve watched any of these I’d love to know all your thoughts and feelings!! Thanks for reading :))
