Hey and howdy, happy Monday.
Today I have the house to myself. After a tiring weekend of packing my bags to leave uni, saying goodbye to my housemates who are ditching me for study abroad in America next semester (😭 ) and then actually leaving uni, I’m ready for a rest.
Sure I’ve had the weekend but there’s no such thing as resting when there’s my 10 and 7 year old brother and sister running around the place. How they have so much energy I’ll never know.
They’re off at school though and my dads at work which means I’m spending the day on the couch and getting started on my Christmas break Watch-List. Sure I’ve got two essays and a piece of 2500 word creative writing to crack on with because the semester isn’t technically over yet, but I’m just gonna ignore that for now.
Since I’m procrastinating today anyways, I figured I’d share with you the shows I plan on watching over the next three weeks.
Only Murders in the Building
Was my initial interest in this show all because of Selena Gomez? Yes. No shame. I’ve been obsessed with her since the Wizards of Waverly Place and Princess Protection Programme days.
I’ve actually watched the first episode of this but got too busy to continue. I was really intrigued by what I watched though and am excited to continue on.
La Casa de Papel / Money Heist (whichever you want to call it)
I started this show years ago but couldn’t continue on because back then the end of high school and college sucked away my happiness and my free time.
The fifth and final season was just released though and it finally spurred me on to start again with this series. Not only did I start it, I made my housemates watch it with me too. We made it through one and a half seasons before all going home for Christmas. If I’m in the mood I’ll be carrying on with this today.
If not today then I’ve downloaded the second half of season 2 and the entirety of season 3 to watch on my flight home on Wednesday.
One of Us is Lying
I did not realise this book was being adapted until I randomly came across the trailer on Youtube. Of course I want to watch this adaptation and I’m hoping to get to it over the holidays. (Not loving the Nate casting choice from this first look but I’m keeping an open mind)
I also want to watch The Hating Game, another adaptation that was just released. Maybe I’ll do a book-to-movie-adaptation marathon one night and write some reviews for them.
Gossip Girl Reboot
I tried keeping up with this when it was first released but I’m just not good with weekly released shows.
From what I’ve watched of this, it’s enjoyable but as per all CW shows it feels like it will piss my off. That’s all part of the enjoyment (?) I suppose. I have plans to play a whole lot of Sims so maybe I’ll put this on in the background while I play.
Never Have I Ever
Cringe. That’s what I’m expecting from this show. It’s part of the reason it’s taken me so long to watch it. I cannot handle second hand embarrassment.
It does seem like a fun show though and I think I’m finally ready. Pray for me people.
I started this but the wifi in my uni accommodation is shit. To be honest, the internet in the entire city of York is shit. I got halfway through the first episode when it stopped working and I gave up.
I liked what I watched though. It was really good to see Emily Osment back on my screen. She’ll forever be Lily to me but I’m looking forward to watching this one.
The clips of this on tik-tok were amazing. This is yet another I started watching. The reason I didn’t continue on in this instance is because it was being released weekly and, as previously stated, I don’t do well with keeping up on weekly episodes.
This show looks like so much fun!! I’ve wanted to watch it for a while and my excitment over it only doubled when the second season came out.
I feel like out of all of these shows mentioned, this will be the one I’ll be the most sad and disappointed about if I don’t get around to watching it. I have high hopes.
So there we go. To be honest these aren’t even all of them. Special shout out to: White Lotus, Good Omens, The Alienist, Cruel Summer, The Witcher, Ted Lasso, and a fair few more. I’m also really considering catching up on Legacies because it’s finally escaped the repetitive story-line and actually looks deserving of being associated with TVD and TO.
If you have thoughts and feelings on any of these, I’d love to here what you thought. I’d also love any reccomendations!
Thanks for reading :))
