Howdy, happy Monday.
Question: you ever have days where you just don’t feel much? Like you’re not exactly happy but you’re not sad either. You’re just floating on a cloud of “meh”. Anyone??
Well that’s how I’m feeling today so I figured I’d try and inject some positivety in my life by talking about new books coming out in 2022 by some of my favourite authors!!
Casey Mcquiston – I Kissed Sara Wheeler

Sure Casey McQuiston is the only author on this list where I’ve only read one of their books but we’re just going to ignore that. While I might not have yet read One Last Stop I just know I’m going to love it as much as Red, White and Royal Blue.
In 2022 McQuiston is not only releasing another book but she’s releasing her YA debut: I Kissed Sara Wheeler! This seems different to her previous novels not only because it’s YA obviously, but it also seems to have a mystery element to it.
It follows a girl called Chloe who’s running for valedictorian with her only real competition being prom queen Sara Wheeler. When a month before graduation Sara kisses Chloe and then vanishes, Chloe follows the clues to find her.
Gallant by V.E Schwab

I’m still not all caught up on Schwabs books 😭: haven’t finished the middle grade ghost series … or even continued onto the second A Darker Shade of Magic book … and I don’t even own Vengeful.
With all that being said I am looking forward to this new release. I think me and Schwab might work better when it comes to stand-alones, as opposed to me keeping up with her intricate series.
I don’t know anything about the plot of this book by the way. I just saw Schwab and a pretty cover and thought “yes”. I’m sure I’ll learn more eventually but if not it’s not the end of the world. Sometimes it’s better going in knowing nothing.
Erin Hahn – Built to Last
Erin Hahn is probably my favourite author. So far she’s released three books, all of which I have absolutely loved with my entire heart. Because of this, I am of course very excited for anything and everything she releases in the future.
From my internet snooping … and from her replying to my tweet saying how excited I was about her next book, it seems like her next release is actually going to be an adult novel following two former childhood co-stars who team up to produce a reality home renovation show.
Hahn’s Young Adult book already read quite mature, like they tackle some tough subjects, the characters are in their late teens, getting ready for college etc, and things like sex, drugs, alcohol are present. Because of that though I am interested in seeing what an adult novel looks like. Very excited.
When You Get the Chance by Emma Lord

I’m keeping all my fingers crossed that I enjoy this book. Emma Lord’s debut novel Tweet Cute made my favourites list the year it was released, but I didn’t enjoy her sophomore novel.
When You Get the Chance seems to have a focus on Broadway with that being the main character, Millie’s, dream.
I’m really hoping for good things from this one. I want to love it just as much as I loved Tweet Cute year ago.
Always Jane by Jenn Bennett

Jenn Bennett’s contemporary novels >> everything else in the world.
The joy I felt when I found out Jenn Bennett was releasing a new contemporary novel in 2022 was beyond what it should be. But considering the fact that there hasn’t been a new Bennet book since 2020 (I think because Covid and there was an issue with her publisher), it’s valid.
I don’t know anything about this book. I did read the synopsis but I’ve had a fair few sleeps since then and it’s left my brain. I really don’t need to know exact details though. I’ve enjoyed enough of her books to have faith and get excited about just it’s existence.

So there we have some new books by my favourite authors. I don’t know if you can tell but I’m really excited about all of these.
I’d love to know if any of your faves are releasing anything new next year. Also, do you planning on reading any of the books I’ve just mentioned? Thanks for reading :))
I love all these authors too and look forward to reading their books in 2022! I did read the arc for When You Get the Chance though. 🙂
