Mandatory Romance Recommendations πŸ˜»

Hi, hello πŸ‘‹

While my housemates are out hanging with their boyfriends I’m in my room eating left-over pizza (Pizza Hut is ridiculously expensive by the way. just wanted to complain about that). Clearly I’m winning.

I plan on multi-tasking though because while I’m eating pizza alone, I’m also going to be recommending some books with A+ romance.

Is it Valentines day if you don’t recommend romance? The answer is no, it’s not. I did some romance recs last year, although that was more me just rambling but you can check that out too if you’re really bored :))

Fools in Love by Rebecca Podos & Ashley Herring Blake

In my opinion this is the quintessential book to read this Valentines Day. It’s literally multiple love stories for the price of one!

I’m terrible at remembering the plots of one story let alone multiple but this really is what it says on the tin: fools falling in love. The one story that really has stuck with me since I read it is one where a girl get’s into a car, thinking it’s her Uber, and the other girl is too awkward to say “erm excuse me, what are you doing?” and just drives her where she needs to go and thats essentially their meet cute.

I personally enjoyed ever story in this. Obviously I liked some more then others, but as a whole it was one of the best anthologies I’ve ever read and you should definitely check it out!

If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich

Apparently me reading great m/m books wayyy before the release date, therefore I have to gush about it alone until it’s released is becoming a thing. And by “a thing” I mean it’s happened twice. First with Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston (which I’ve recommended in Valentines past but you should read if you haven’t already), and now with If This Get’s Out.

This book follows a world-famous boyband with two of the members falling in love and having to navigate that, one of them is discovering his sexual identity, then you add their management and fans breathing down their necks. It makes for such a compelling and kinda nerve wracking book.

I really loved Ruben and Zach, obviously the two love interests. Their communication was *chefs kisses* and they were just super cute. This book was finally released in December so if you haven’t already, go read it asap!!

Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy

I talked about the Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy way too much last year so I’m very glad to have a new book from her to scream about from the rooftops!

Mackenzie is attending college at the behest of her parents even though she has a thriving business she wants to focus on. Cooper is the town “bad boy” (except he’s really not. he’s the town “brooding boy” sure but there’s nothing “bad” about him). They meet, they become friends, they fall in love all while I smile a lot while reading.

I say it every time I talk about Elle Kennedy’s books but it’s worth saying again: she has a talent for writing chemistry. Their personality jumped out in their individual chapters but that went up a notch when they came together. I loved this one so much!!

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

Ok I’m sure you’ve seen this series on so many romance recommendations but this is the first time I’ve been able to recommend it myself because I only read this series a couple of months ago.

I wasn’t totally in love with the first book in this series and that scared me. I didn’t want to not like such a popular series but thankfully I liked each book better then the last. My favourites where probably the second and forth books: Undercover Bromance and Isn’t It Bromantic?

I liked how these books have such a solid foundation of male friendship, they all hype each other up but also hold each other accountable. And then you have the romances themselves which are also cute.

The Brown Sisters by Talia Hibbert

And the final recommendation is another you’ve probably heard of a bazillion times but again, I’ve only just read the last book so this is my first opportunity to share the hype.

These books were just so much fun. I want rom-com Netflix adaptations of all of these but I’ll talk more about that at a later time.

Before reading Act Your Age, Eve Brown I would have said I don’t have a favourite but never mind. That third book has taken the top spot just because of how bloody funny it was! Genuinely don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at a book before.

So those are my recommendations. I’d love to know your thoughts and feelings on any of these books, as well as what your go-to romance recommendations are. Thanks for reading and Happy Valentine’s Day πŸ’˜
