I’ve become obsessed with romance novels.

Once upon a time I said over and over that romance was my least favourite genre and that I especially never thought I’d like Adult Romance. Well, well, well how the turntables because fast forward a couple of years and here I am!

I really milked the romance cow back in February and I kinda feel bad about still going on the romance train BUT i realised I’ve not talked about up and coming New Adult romance books I’m interested in reading so I’m going to do that today!

Terms & Conditions by Lauren Asher – February 24th

I’ve been seeing people reading Terms & Conditions over the last week since it’s release and I am so jealous!

The Dreamland Billionaire’s series follows the grandsons of the fictional version of Disney. Each grandson is given a task, I guess you could say, they have to complete in order to secure their shares in the company. The second book follows the eldest brother Declan who has to marry to secure his position and so he marries his assistant Iris.

I loved the first book in this series which I read late last year. I did a whole review on it in my grumpy/sunshine post if you want to check that out. I’d like to say for the record that I am anti-real-billionaire’s but fictional-billionaires are very fun to read about!

Husband Material by Alexis Hall – August 2nd

I figured I’d kick off with both sequels, this one, however, actually follows the same main character as the first. This time around Luc and Oliver aren’t fake-dating, instead they’re very happy together but are now faced with the fact that everyone around the is getting married.

I have no clue what to expect from this book. I feel like we so rarely get a direct follow on from romance books. I’m just hoping they don’t break up at any point because I can’t deal with that.

American Royalty by Tracey Livesay – June 28th

I’ve only known about this book for a couple of hours at this point but now I don’t know how I’m meant to wait until June to get my eyeballs on it!!

I guess it’s kind of based off Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as this follows Prince Jameson who’s trying to live his life out of the spotlight, and American Rapper Danielle “Duchess” Nelson who’s about to become one of the richest woman in hip-hop.

Like I said, I’ve only known about this book for a few hours but I have such a good feeling about this book and I will be reading it as soon as I can.

How to Fake It in Hollywood by Ava Wilder – June 14th

First of all let’s focus on how pretty this book cover is. The colours are so pretty!! I’m a slut for romance books but I’m also a slut for sunsets on covers. It’s a whole thing.

Anyways. The book. As you may have guessed from the title it’s set in Hollywood and begins as a PR stunt Hollywood starlet Grey Brooks and recluse A-Lister Ethan Atkins fake-dating. That’s all I need to know. That’s all I want to know.

This has the mix of a lot of things I love: we’ve already covered that I love a sunset but then you also have fake-dating and famous people!! A recipe for a good time!!

The Love Con by Seressia Glass – December 14th

A romance book with a best friends-to-lovers romance that centres around cosplaying. Sign me the fuck up. Give me this book now please!!

This book follows a woman called Kenya Davenport who is the total opposite of her STEM parents. She loves all things video games, anime and cosplay. Wanting to turn her hobby into a career she signs up for a cosplaying reality show competition. The only catch is that the final round challenge is all about “iconic pairs” with the contestants significant others participating. With Kenya being as single as a pringle, her best friend Cameron agrees to be her boyfriend. More fake dating!!

I feel like this one is going to be incredibly sweet and I’m excited.

Circling Back to You by Julie Tieu – July 12th

I feel like I never heard the phrase “let’s circle back” until the pandemic and everyone was making those tik-tok about work meetings over zoom and now it’s a whole thing and a book title.

This is a work place romance with even more fake-dating. 2022 is the year of fake-dating romances by the look of it and I am not complaining!!! We follow Cadence and Matt who are good work buddies. When a business trips sends them to Matt’s hometown, he asks Cadence to pretend to be his girlfriend because he told his parents he was seeing someone which leads to “previously buried feelings” to rise to the surface.

I’m trying very hard to live in the moment and not wish my life away but all of these releases being so far away hurts my heart.

Built to Last by Erin Hahn – October 18th

My queen Erin Hahn is making her adult romance debut this year and I cannot wait. A favourite author delving into a new genre should have me nervous but I have total faith in Erin Hahn. Her YA books are already filled with so much chemistry and I’m excited to see more of that.

This book is a second chance romance between two childhood actor sweethearts who are pushed into the spotlight together via a home renovation show.

I’m in dire need of more Erin Hahn books. I’m already planning to re-read at least one of her previous works this month so I’m definitely highly anticipating this new release!!

A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams – November 1st

I thought the Bromance Book Club was finished!! I did not know about this but I’m thrilled.

This fifth instalment follows country star Colton who has a second chance romance with immigration lawyer Gretchen. I vaguely remember Gretchen from the previous books but like, very vaguely.

When it comes to the Bromance Book Club I enjoyed the series more and more with each new instalment and I’m hoping that’s the case again here. I’m especially excited about this one because it’s set over Christmas time and there’s just that extra something special in a festive romance.

And there we have my most anticipated romances. There’s a chance a couple more will catch my interests as the months go by but these are the main ones right now.

I’d love to know your thoughts and feelings on any of these books, as well as what romances you’re looking forward to this year! Thanks for reading :))

  1. the title of this post describes me so well rn 😂 I read The Fine Print earlier this month and I LOVED IT SM, now I’m just waiting for my copy of Terms and Conditions to arrive basically! My next romance will probably be Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren or The Silent Waters by Brittainy C. Cherry since I have physical copies and I’m in the mood for that.
Also really want to start The Bromance Book Club series this year!!

    1. Fine Print was so damn good!! I’m really trying to wait to read Terms & Conditions but I keep nearly seeing spoilers on Tik-Tok … might have to treat myself to it once I’ve finished my assignments this month.
I haven’t heard of that Christina Lauren book, will have to add it to my TBR.
The Bromance Book Club was a fun one, I enjoyed each book better then the last. Hope you love it!
