Currently vibing with these books // April TBR

I feel like this point it’s fair to say that my TBRs are just a list of the books I’m vibing with in the moment. The books that show up on my TBR are barely ever the same books that show up on my wrap up and that’s okay. I’ve made peace with that.

I like going into the month with a rough idea of what I’m in the mood for so I’m not overwhelmed, but I do just go with where the bookish-cravings take me. With that being said, today I’m going to talk about some books I hope to read this April. I guess we’ll see if that actually happens.

March was such a good reading month for me. As I’m writing this post I’ve still got a week left but I’ve already read 9 books. I’ll be happy if I even read half of that in April.

Yes I’ve got 3 weeks off uni for Easter but I’m visiting my Dad, my Mum’s flying over for a week and me and my friends might be going to Edinburgh. So not really all that much free time in the grand scheme of things.

I may or may not have treat myself to a copy of Daisy Jones & the Six today. Listen it’s been a long week and I was just in the bookshop debating with myself and ultimately the side of my brain chanting “you deserve it” won out.

As soon as I’ve wiped my currently-reading shelf clear I think I’m going to binge both of these books back to back. I know I don’t have to read Daisy Jones before Evelyn Hugo but I think want to. If there’s any little easter-eggs or nods I want to be in on the joke.

Despite not being as interested in these two books when they were first released, I’ve recently become really excited to read them, and I’m feeling the pressure to do so right especially since they’re both being adapted!

First up, can everyone freak out with me for a sec. A publisher reached out to asking if I’d like to take part in the book-tour and even receive a physical ARC of The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams. I am a big fan of sports-romance books and this one is on my list to read. I’m trying to stay away from reading too many New Adult Romances in April just because I read so many last month, but I’m very excited to get this one.

Then we have Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney. For the longest time I thought this was a Adult Romance book but no. It’s very much YA. I’m actually currently reading the ARC of Joya Goffney’s sophomore novel: Confessions of an Alleged Good Girl. I’m LOVING this book which is why her debut is on my April TBR.

I feel like we’re in full swing of Spring right now and these covers are giving me all the pastel-spring vibes. I really want to read In Deep Waters by F.T Lukens and Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Yim but I’m scared by the hype and the beauty.

This is gonna sound stupid but I’ve enjoyed reading physical books recently. I’ve been reading a lot of e-books over the last couple of months but the last few books I’ve read have been physical copies and I’ve had a lot of fun with those so I want to read some more this month. Make the most of the lamp I finally bought a bulb for.

So that’s a rough idea of my April TBR. It’s definitely subject to change. I wouldn’t mind also reading one or two of the books from my March TBR that I didn’t get to like: It Ends With Us, Only a Monster and Open Water. I’m trying not to say the same books in every TBR just because I don’t get to them.

As always I’d love to know what you’re reading this month and what you thought about any of these books. Thanks for reading :))

    1. I totally forgot the fact that I’m away for half of April and can’t bring all these physical books with me. In Deep Water is one that’s been left behind but I’m itching to get my hands on it when I’m back. So glad you enjoyed it!
