Books by Black Authors // Recommendations

Hello 🙂 I am here today with some recommendations of books written by black authors.

I use the term “recommendations” loosely for the simple fact that the books I’m about to talk about are pretty popular meaning you’ve either probably read them already or have at least heard about them.

Black Life Matters protests are still happening all over the world and even if you can’t be on the front lines marching there’s still so many ways you can help such as:

• Signing petitions such as those listed HERE 
• Donating HERE if you’re able.
• And if you can’t donate you can watch videos where all the ad revenue is donated to various charities and organizations HERE.

August Wrap Up

Hi, hey hello and welcome to my blog 🙂

August has come and gone, a whole month of heatwaves and me doing abolsutely nothing beneficial with my free time. Literally.

Things I did do this month:

• Turned 17 years old and fully accepted my new role as a Dancing Queen 👑
• Got a tattoo and a lil job all in the span of 2 days making me feel scarily grown up.
• Survived my cousins week long stay at my house.
• Celebrated 1 whole year of AceReader

Things I did not do this month:

• Take advantage of my last free month off school and actually READ.

It’s my birthday and I got books! // Book Haul

Hi and hello and a very happy August!!!!

Before I get into this blog post I just want to give fair warning that I’m writing this at 1am because I’ve been playing Sims all night and I’m a busy bee tomorrow so this is what I’m left with. You’ve been warned.

So yesterday (today for me) was my birthday! Yay, a whole day of being tagged in ugly photos on Facebook by family members I haven’t spoken too in years. Woo.

I’m 17 now, a Dancing Queen according to the Gods AKA Abba. All jokes aside I had a great day eating birthday cake for breakfast, drinking beer around the pool (drink safely kids) and my dad lying to a bar owner we know and saying I’m 18 so I could get a beer. I’m forever one year older when we set foot into that bar now.

Also I got 8 books!!!!!!! Which is clearly the most important part and it’s what I’m about to start blabbing on about now 🙂

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

For this next month and hopefully following months I’ve decided to take part in Top 5 Tuesday which is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book . The theme for this month is all books that start with the following letters of the alphabet.

When I received an ARC for this courtesy of Netgalley I shit you not I screamed. I was so excited about reading this. Granted that excitement went away as soon as I actually started reading it but in recent weeks I’ve come to have a new appreciation for this book. Its bad it really it however I find reading other peoples reviews so entertaining that I have to give it props. Just the overall ridiculousness of this book and the reviews that include sentences like “a clusterfuck of quirky nonsense” keep me so entertained.
