☀Top 5 Books I Read This Summer☀

Hello and howdy.

Summer is over and I’m now officially on countdown for going back to school. I go back to school in less then a week and yet I still have no idea what’s happening and neither do my teachers😂. Gotta love the Spanish school system.

Anyway. With the summer now coming to a close it’s time to take a look back and talk about the best books I read over these past three months.

Throughout June, July & August I read a whopping 38 books. That is absolutely crazy to me and yet I’ve narrowed down my 5 favourite which I’m going to be talking about today:)

Me by Elton John

I can’t believe I read this back in June. That feels like forever ago!

Is this because I’ve read so many other books since then or is my sense of time just incredibly warped? Probably both tbh.

Book Review: Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

*Possible spoilers for Carry On*

Publication Date: September 24th 2019

Series: Simon Snow #2

The story is supposed to be over. Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light… That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

Book Review: Carry On by Rainbow Rowell.

Publication Date: October 6th 2015

Series: Simon Snow #1

Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who’s ever been chosen.

That’s what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he’s probably right.

Half the time, Simon can’t even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor’s avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there’s a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon’s face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here — it’s their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon’s infuriating nemesis didn’t even bother to show up. My Reading Rush 2020 T.B.R

Hi, hello and howdy :))

Last year I failed the Reading Rush. This year I’m planning on failing it again because 7 books in 7 days is not possible for me and my bad habits of procrastination and being easily distracted.

This time around I have 4 books on my TBR that I’m hoping to read but looking at it now I don’t know how many I’ll actually get around to.

My dad has been away working for near on ten weeks now and he’s finally coming home on Wednesday which is great, I’m excited to see him, but it means we’ve got lots of plans cause he’s only home ten days so reading won’t be my top priority. Continue reading “My Reading Rush 2020 T.B.R”

LGBTQ books I am definitely reading this month // June TBR

Hellooo 🙂 I’m tired today. I hosted an impromptu “party” last night and you’d think a couple of seventeen and eighteen year olds being left home alone with alcohol would have a rager but instead we stayed up till 2am playing Monopoly, hence the being tired today😂

Anyways today I’m going to be talking about all the books I’m planning on reading in June. I read 10 books last month and I’m planning to keep that momentum going. June is pride month and so just like last year I really want to read a whole lot of books with LGBT+ characters and plots.

Popular Boks I haven’t Read Yet // Top 5 Tuesday

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday.

Absolutely nothing has happened recently besides: I ate crumpets, finished season 3 of Brooklynn 99, walked my dogs in my pyjamas because apparently I’m that person now and I started reading Midnight Sun, the unreleased Twilight book from Edwards perspective and it’s hilarious. Possible blog post about that coming in the near distant future.

Anyways I’m just going to jump straight in to todays post which is all about Popular Books I haven’t Read Yet.

I feel like I’m pretty caught up on the popular YA books everyone raves about. I’ve read Fangirl and Victoria Schwab and Adam Silvera and a whole bunch of other popular books and authors but I’ve still got 5 to talk about here.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm

1- Sadie by Courtney Summers

51q4dmgrQUL._SX322_BO1,204,203,200_A whole lot of people rave about this book and the audiobook which is told like a podcast following the disappearance of Sadie. Or her sister. I cant quiet remember who exactly is missing but this is meant to be a super hard hitting book. I’ve actually tried to read this book already but I wasn’t in the mood for it. I do totally plan on picking it up again eventually though. Continue reading “Popular Boks I haven’t Read Yet // Top 5 Tuesday”

Series I’m Waiting to Read.

Hi, hey, and welcome to my blog 🙂

I’m a procrastinator. I either finish an assignment long before it’s due which means I likely loose the damn thing when it’s time to hand it in, or I put it off until the last possible minute. This is why my stress levels are usually so high.

And I’ll admit this habit of procrastinating stretches to my reading habit too, however here are four series that I am willingly waiting to read, not because I’m procrastinating but because I think waiting to read them will somehow better my overall reading experience.

The Heartstopper Graphic Novels by Alice Oseman

UK vs US Book Covers

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I am pitting two nations against each other. Over the past few years England and America have gone head to head to see who can fuck up their countries and their governments the most and so I thought I’d also make them go head to head and see who has the better book covers of some of my favourite books.

Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater

K. So I technically haven’t read this yet but I have a strong feeling I’m going to love this because of course I’m going to love a whole book of Ronan Lynch and also, I just really wanted a good excuse to talk about this UK cover (left). Continue reading “UK vs US Book Covers”

Bookish Wishlist to help me survive.

Hello and happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I started back at school for the third term of my last year as a high school student … and I immediately started freaking out.

With only 9 weeks left at school and 9 weeks to make sure I get the grades to graduate, anxiety and self doubt have taken a hold of my brain.

And so I figured bribing myself into staying motivated and not having a breakdown would be a good idea and so I’ve made a wishlist of a few books I’m hoping to buy myself at the end of June, hopefully as a graduation present to myself!

1- The Devouring Grey by Christine Lynn Herman
