Books I’d gift the Heartstopper Characters

Hello.

Gift giving is stressful. This year it’s been even worse for me because I’ve been out of the damn continent and when I got back all I wanted to do was sleep. Genuinely considered giving my friends IOU’s but thankfully I managed to scramble together a little something.

As a reader, books are my go to gifts whether that be gifting or asking for them on my own wishlist. For some reason, the other day when I was bored I sat down and thought about what books I’d give certain book characters which leads us to today where I will be talking about which books I would hypothetically gift the Heartstopper characters.

This is just something fun and festive. With how insanely popular this series – the books and the Netflix adaption – has become this year, it just feels apt to be talking about these guys.

🌼Top 5 Books I Read This Spring🌼

Guys I’m stressed. There’s a thousand bars in my town and yet everyone from my school goes to the one right opposite my house. They can see inside my living room window 😂. I feel like going out on my balcony and telling them to go find some other place to serve their underage ass.

Instead of doing that I’m going to channel my anxiety into talking all about the best books I read this spring.

In the last three months I have read 30 books. 30!!! I’m shocked too. And yet even though I’ve read so much my top 5 are pretty clear.

The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

Cutest Romances // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Ugh. It’s one of those days today. One of those days where I could quite happily stay in bed all day, not talking to anyone, not doing anything.

But alas school work calls and my teachers continue to haunt me through emails.

A bright spot in today though is that I’m going to be talking all about the Cutest Romances💕.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm

Persephone & Hades (Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe)

This web comic was all over my Goodreads last week and I was intrigued so I started reading and I love this so much. It’s a retelling of the Persephone and Hades where they’re still gods but it has a more modern twist to it.

Not only is the artwork so beautiful that each chapter I’m blown away but the plot is just as good. I’m not even up to these two being official yet but already the cuteness level is high and I can’t wait to read on.

If you’re interested in reading this you can read it on Here on WebToon Continue reading “Cutest Romances // Top 5 Tuesday”

Happy Easter // Book Tag 🐰🌸

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

So yesterday was Easter something I didn’t realise until I skyped my 5 year old sister and she showed me her mountain of Easter Eggs. I’m not religious or anything but I live opposite a church so it’s weird not to hear the bells ring a million times a day or watch the parade that leaves from there.

Anyways today I am going to be doing the Easter Time Book Tag, originally created by Theresa @ The Calico Books … and then I’m going to go eat my own chocolate egg.

Easter Eggs: Name a book that feels like a hidden gem

I really haven’t seen many people talk about talk about These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabelle Sterling which is wrong because it’s gay elemental witches with great humour.

On one hand I’m glad I get to keep it all to myself but on the hand I want everyone to read this ASAP!

Bloom: A debut novel you loved.

I’ve loved way more debut novels then I even realised so in the face of a long list I’m going with my most recent which was The Devouring Grey by Christine Lynn Herman.

This wasn’t the best book in the world but it was fun and I raced through it in one day.

I’m also currently re-reading Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and I refuse to believe this is a debut because it’s just so good!

March Wrap Up

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

Well March was a month that happened wasn’t it. I was expecting a month filled stressing over exams and instead I’ve spent the last two and a half weeks binge-watch Brooklynn 99 and I managed to read 9 books!

I’m literally 10 books ahead of schedule on my Goodreads challenge and I’m feeling very accomplished right now.

Spring Has Sprung … and so have my allergies // Book Tag

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I am doing the Spring has Sprung book tag because even though it hasn’t stopped raining in the last two weeks spring has indeed sprung.

Like almost everyone else I’m not aloud to leave my house right now so the allergies are being kept at bay but it’s only a matter of time before the three months of constant sneezing and watering eyes begin. Yay.

Flowers – All the flowers we remember are blooming again. Pick a book that’s a fresh take on a retelling.

I haven’t read many retellings but I do have a fair few on my TBR including Geekerella by Ashley Poston which I may or may not have bought the e-book of the other night. I don’t know much about this but I know it’s a Cinderella retelling with fandom themes which for a huge nerd like me seems like a fun time. I also know it features a food truck called the Magic Pumpkin which sounds cute!

Cadbury Mini Eggs- Obviously the superior springtime chocolate of choice. Pick a book that you consider to be a sweet treat.

First of all: big fat yesss to Mini Eggs being the best!!!

Less a book more of an author but I really love Jenn Bennetts contemporary novels. They’re such easy reads, the main characters all have something unique about them and even with all the cutness and fluffiness there’s more things at play. I’m currently readin Seriously Moonlight and loving it! Continue reading “Spring Has Sprung … and so have my allergies // Book Tag”

Blog, book haul

I bought these ages ago // Book Haul

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

Its time for a book haul baby! So I was stressed a couple of weeks ago (read: two months ago 😂)  and bought a bunch of books … and then my mum wanted to split the package cost for something so I bought some more, and I’m going to talk about them today.

I’m actually quiet glad I did go ahead and buy a bunch of books before everything kicked off, even if at the time I did feel guilty about adding to my physical TBR, because there’s a chance I’m on lockdown till April 12th so I’m going to need a lot of reading material.

How to self-isolate without dying of boredom // TBR ?? Kinda. Idk

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

Raise your hand if your country is on lock-down for the next two weeks and you can be fined for leaving your house without a valid reason! 🖐 Me.

Me and my dad went out this morning, just to the corner booze shop to stock up on the most important things: alcohol, and the whole time I was singing the song from TikTok “Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious” and now it’s been in my head all day.

Basically today I’m going to be talking how exactly I plan to keep sane during these next two weeks. I still have class, kinda. My Latin and Greek teacher is making us do class for 2 hours over WhatsApp! This is the time we’re living in. But apart from that my plans include:

Reading so much.

My expectations for reading this month were low since this month was meant to be jam packed with exams as it’s technically the end of term. With everything that’s going on though I think I can probably squeeze a fair few things in.

I’m currently reading:

secetThe Secrete History by Donna Tart- I’ve been reading this for what feels like forever and I’m only 200-ish pages in. It’s interesting but so slow. I’ve just hit a turning point, I think, I hope, so this will definitly be getting finished this month.

The Goblet of Fire Illustrated by Jim Kay– I started reading this to ease my anxiety and planned to read a chapter a day before bed but I’ve been flying through this. I’m always so taken aback by how beautiful the illustrations are. Continue reading “How to self-isolate without dying of boredom // TBR ?? Kinda. Idk”

February Wrap Up

Hi, hey hello and welcome to my blog!

February is over. We’ve survived somehow. Well done to us is all I can say. Today I’m going to be wrapping up and talking all about the books I read in February.

I have absolutely nothing of import or interest to say because it’s nearly midnight and I am hungry so I’m just going to jump right on with my wrap up 🙂

Scammed by Kristen Simmons

9781250175830

The first thing I completed this month was an ARC which I’m thrilled about because I’m trying to read at least one ARC a month. Scammed is the sequel to last years The Decievers which I enjoyed however I liked book 2 a lot more.

I was wary going into this because I couldn’t remember much from the previous novel however the first few chapters of this book did a great job at catching me up to speed, jogging my memory and then wasted no time in getting straight into the action which I thought was missing from the first book.

This series follows a girl who attends a super elite boarding school for con artists and in exchange for this opportunity and future college tuition and overall life success Brynn has to put her conning skills to the work for the owner/funder/headmaster? of the school but of course, she get’s into a more then she ever thought she could handle.
