Blog Tour: The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

*ARC provided through TBR and Beyond*

The Inheritance Games ended with a bombshell, and now heiress Avery Grambs has to pick up the pieces and find the man who might hold the answers to all of her questions – including why Tobias Hawthorne left his entire fortune to Avery, a virtual stranger, rather than to his own daughters or grandsons.

Thanks to a DNA test, Avery knows that she’s not a Hawthorne by blood, but clues pile up hinting at a deeper connection to the family than she had ever imagined. As the mystery grows and the plot thickens, Grayson and Jameson, the enigmatic and magnetic Hawthorne grandsons, continue to pull Avery in different directions. And there are threats lurking around every corner, as adversaries emerge who will stop at nothing to see Avery out of the picture – by any means necessary.

Cancelling The Fixer series was a crime and I’m mad about it.

Hi. It’s exam season. This post was meant to be up last week but I’m already falling apart. I’m functioning more or less exclusively on cups of tea and anxiety but today I’m here to complain. (I’ll always have the time and energy to complain).

If you’re a regular on this blog you may or may not know that Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one of, if not my most, favourite author. I’ve read all of her books baring the super old Cheerleading series and the werewolf(?) series.

The last series I read of hers was The Fixer duology which is essentially Shonda Rimes’ Scandal but if Olivia Pope had her teenage sister all up in her business. It follows Tess who goes to live in DC with her big sister who is a fixer for DCs elite and she gets mixed up in a whole lot of drama.

I absolutely could not get enough of these books, I loved them that much. But there’s one teeny-tiny problem … THE THIRD BOOK WAS NEVER RELEASED!!

I would like to sit down and have a nice conversation with the publisher who read The Long Game, read all those twists and turns, and thought “nah we’re not gonna publish a third book”.

👏I👏 Just 👏Want👏 To 👏Talk👏

What is even happening this month? // July TBR (kinda)

Hi and hello and hi.

Quick question: is anyone else not getting notifications for when they’re tagged or mentioned by other people or is that just me? If you’ve tagged me in anything recently and I’ve seemingly ignored you I’m sorry. My computer or this website is dumb.

Anyways today I am going to be talking about my plans for July. I have no idea what to expect from this month but here is a list of things I would like to accomplish:

1- Read some books.

What books? I’m not sure exactly. While in the past couple of months I’ve done well with setting myself a structured TBR that’s gone out of this window this time around.

mayhemI know for a fact I’ll be reading Mayhem by Estelle Laure as I am part of the blog tour next week. I’m not 100% clear on the synopsis but I believe it’s about a girl who discovers her family have powers, something along those lines. I’m not sure what to expect from this but this will be one of the next books I pick up.

I also have plans to read a lot of Jennifer Lynn Barnes booksdls this month. She’s one of my favourite authors so I want to begin my re-read of The Naturals, a series following teenage profilers working for the FBI, I want to read Deadly Little Scandals, a sequel I just haven’t gotten to yet all about southern debutantes with a hint of murder, and I also want to start reading her backlist series The Fixer, a duology about a girl who I believe becomes a political fixer.

Overall I’d say my reading plans for this month include a lot of re-reads. The Naturals, like I said, is one I want to start again but I also want to re-read Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy throughout July and begin my re-read of The Kane Chronicles a trilogy I’ve never actually completed which my friend, who is equally obsessed as me, find blasphemous. The Sims Book Tag!

large (1)

Hello and welcome back to my blog 🙂

Today I’m doing the Sims Book tag!

tumblr_pctkbqVT9E1rby04wo1_400

I am absolute trash for the Sims. I love living vicariously through them and basically being their GOD(dess).

Reading and playing Sims are my favourite forms of procrastination and are responsible for the permanent bags under my eyes because I have no control and stay up too late every time. So I figured hey, why don’t I combine the two and do the book tag 🙂

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes // Series Recommendation.

This fast paced, teen murder mystery series consists of:

The Naturals. Killer Instinct. All In & Bad Blood

The-Naturals-series

This series follows Cassie Hobbs, a natural at reading and profiling people, when she is recruited to join a small and pretty secrete division of the FBI known as The Naturals Program.

The Naturals Program is made up of Dean, Michael, Sloane and Lia, all who have a special gift that helps the FBI close cold cases.

Dean is a profiler just like Cassie. Michael reads peoples emotions. Lia is basically a human lie detector and Sloane is extremely loveable and also has the brain of a super computer more or less.

What Cassie doesn’t realise though when she signs up for this is that she’s in a lot more danger then she realises when a series of murders have an eerie connection to Cassie herself.
