Books by Black Authors // Recommendations

Hello 🙂 I am here today with some recommendations of books written by black authors.

I use the term “recommendations” loosely for the simple fact that the books I’m about to talk about are pretty popular meaning you’ve either probably read them already or have at least heard about them.

Black Life Matters protests are still happening all over the world and even if you can’t be on the front lines marching there’s still so many ways you can help such as:

  • Signing petitions such as those listed HERE
  • Donating HERE if you’re able.
  • And if you can’t donate you can watch videos where all the ad revenue is donated to various charities and organizations HERE.

5 Book’s I Would Re-Write // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday 🙂

Todays Top 5 Tuesday is all about rewriting books and at first I thought this topic was going to be really hard but I came up with my list in about five minutes. I have a lot of things I want to change.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ The Bionic Book Worm

Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I mentioned in my review of this book that I hated Mal with a vengeance and wanted him to die. Yes I was that dramatic. So if I could re-write this book that’s what I’d do. If I had my way he’d have been eaten during the first few chapters and I wouldn’t regret a single thing. Continue reading “5 Book’s I Would Re-Write // Top 5 Tuesday”

Asexuals in Fiction 🖤💜🖤

Hi, hey, hello and happy asexual awareness week 🙂

This was meant to be up earlier in the week but I have been so wrapped up in school recently that I didn’t even realise. But anyways this week is Asexual Awareness Week. Woo!!!

I did a post similar to this for Bisexual Visibility day a few weeks back and here I am today to talk about some books featuring Asexual characters. There sadly isn’t many books with ace characters but we’re seeing more and more each year and I’m living for it!

Bisexuals in Fiction 💗💜💙

Hello and welcome to my blog … and happy bisexual visibility day💗💜💙

I feel like a lot of the time bisexuality is something that gets swept under the rug, especially in the media and most definitely with celebrities. And so today I’m just going to be talking about some book with Bi rep that I loved, some that I want to read and just some great bisexual characters in general.

The Perfect Summer Reads🍦

Hello and welcome to my blog!SUMMER.gif

I’m currently 1 week into the summer holidays and I’ve got to say that I’m having a blast. My life no longer revolves around late night studying, early morning wake ups and me drowning in exams. No, instead I can stay up all night reading or playing sims and eating my weight in ice-cream.

It’s amazing.

And so I figured I’d use my current summery mood to scour my shelfs and find some books that I think are perfect to read this summer 🙂

The Avengers Book Tag

large (1)

Hello and happy Monday!

This past weekend I went and watched Avengers Endgame, not once, but twice, and I don’t know whether my life is now complete or if there’s now a permanent hole in my soul. Maybe both?

Anyways I’m taking inspiration from Kristin from Kristin Kraves Books and I’m doing the Avengers Book Tag to celebrate the end of an era.

Disappointing 2018 Reads

Facebook Cover #1

I tried to think of a funny opener to this post but I’m ill and hungry and my mind isn’t cooperating so let me just say hello and welcome to me reliving my sadness because today I’m talking about my most disappointing 2018 reads.

So far this year I’ve read 88 books which is totally crazy to me, but of course in that mix there were some books I had pretty high expectations for and that ended up disappointing me.

It was really annoying because there was about a month where I read a bunch of books that didn’t live up to what I thought and it was just depressing. Also for the record I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy these books just that something was missing from them.

Ok here goes.
