Red Covers – #5OnMyTBR

(still not used to the new set up so something went dodgy with my scheduling over the weekend so sorry for anyone seeing this twice lol)

Hello and happy Monday ๐Ÿ˜Š

Tis my last week of sweet, sweet freedom before school starts so I’m being productive today (getting ahead on reviews, planning out a blog schedule, taking my dog to the vets) so that I can spend the rest of my time sleeping and reading.

Today I’m back with another round of #5OnMyTBR! Today’s theme is Red Covers and I struggled. At the minute I have 4 on this list so we’ll see if I can think up a fourth by thetime I reach the end.

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @Local Bee Hunterโ€™s Nook (me!) and you can learn more about it here or in the post announcing it. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

1) Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer

The existence of this book is more evidence to the fact that I’m a psychic. No joke I read the 2008 leaked version of this only a couple of weeks before the official announcement of this being published. PSYCHIC!!

If you’re somehow not aware, this book is a retelling of Twilight from Edwards point of view. Something I genuinely asked the universe for. Proof of this is HERE in this blog post.

I am thankfully saved from spending way too much on this beast of a book because my best friend bought it however she preffers Audiobooks so I’m keeping it at my house away from her sister and I plan on starting this soon.

I’m actually planning on annotating this for my friend, leaving sarcastic comments and things to make it more entertaining for the both of us.

(I don’t have many red covers. There’s a significant amount of red on this cover. It counts)

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer is being published for realises!

I’m not saying I’m a psychic who can see into the future but I am definitely channeling some sort of 300 Foxway/That’s so Raven powers because just a few weeks after reading Midnight Sun it’s been announced it’s going to be PUBLISHED!!!

And not only that but it comes out on my birthday August 4th!

What universe are we living in!!! Continue reading “Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer is being published for realises!”

April Wrap Up

Helloooo ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t know how but it’s that time again where I talk all about the books I read this month. I had a pretty lofty TBR for April and I read approximately two of those books.

My reading was pretty all over the place this month and in terms of quantity but sadly it was pretty “meh” in terms of quality. Because of how random the books are I’ve split them into groups to try and bring some order to this wrap up.

The “meh” books.

The first book I read this month was Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett and it was disappointing. I did a whole review for it but in short: I love Jenn Bennett but I didn’t love this book. It liked the representation: a hard of hearing boy with Japanese heritage and a girl with narcolepsy, but I didn’t care much about the romance. There wasn’t much chemistry between the characters, Birdie and Daniel, at least compared to other Bennett books, and they felt kind of cringey at times.

I was in the mood for some cheesy “oh my god I have superpowers” and “oh my god I’m the most powerful witch to ever exist” read and so I read The Lost Witch by Chandelle LaVaun. . I was hoping for a guilty pleasure read but I basically skim read this. It just wasn’t what I wanted and I barely remember anything that happened (besides lots of characters with very modern American names). Continue reading “April Wrap Up”

I read Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer and it was โ€ฆ interesting.

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

So a while back I made a post talking about books I’d love to read from another characters point of view. In that post I said I’d love to re-read Twilight from Edwards perspective and Emma @ A Few Chapters ’til Love actually pointed out something that I completely forgot about which is that this was already a thing!

It took me a while to get around to reading it (aka 8 months) but recently I read Midnight Sun which is part of the first Twilight book but from Edwards point of view.

hhhThis was actually leaked before it could be published or even finished for that matter. I’m not clued in on the whole drama surrounding why this was never officially released because I was a literal child at the time and I don’t have the energy to go digging now but I decided to read this because I was bored and wanted some entertainment.

So today I’m going to be talking a little bit about what I thought about this book. This isn’t a proper review and I didn’t give it a star rating on Goodreads either because it feels wrong to judge a book seriously when it’s literally the half completed first draft. I’m just kind of going to be sharing the fleeting thoughts I had during and after reading.

Edward perspective of their first meeting in Biology is hilarious. So if you’ve read the book or watched the movie you’ll know that these two star crossed lovers meet in Biology class when Bella has to sit next to him.

In Bella’s POV she see’s him react in utter disgust and thinks she smells bad or something. The problem is the complete opposite. She smells too good which leads to Edward fantasising about sucking her blood for the entire class. Continue reading “I read Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer and it was โ€ฆ interesting.”
