March TBR

Hi and hello.

I told myself not to go overboard when it came to picking out books for my TBR this month since I failed so spectacularly when it came to keeping on track with last months. Yeah. There are still 8 books on this TBR.

Right now I’m impassioned and so motivated to read all these books, I’ve even started one or two of them, but those feelings could easily disappear in as little as a couple of days. My attention span leaves something to be desired.

It’s Spooky Season Bitches!! // October TBR

  ðŸ‘» ðŸ‘» It’s Spooky Season!! ðŸ‘» ðŸ‘»

Listen to me when I tell you that I have had this TBR planned out for over a month now. Sure I enjoyed the books I read in September but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t waiting for the month to be over so I could move onto this TBR.

You could ask why I didn’t just read these books during Septmber and save myself the wait and to that I say BECAUSE OF THE VIBES!! This TBR was specifically picked for Halloween and reading them any other month before that would have ruined my experience.

There is one slight problem now though … I’ve got a lot of books I want to read this month and, by the looks of it, not much time. Finally after weeks of complaining my classes were boring and I had nothing to do I actually have multiple things to do.

So it’s gonna be a bit tight when it comes to squeezing all these books this month but I’m determined to do it.

The Ravens + The Monarchs by Kas Morgan & Danielle Paige

Yes October is all about the spooky read but it’s also about bad-ass bitches being even better witches which is exactly what I hope these books are going to provide! This series follows a sorority who are infamous for their parties and who are also secretely a coven of witches.

Busy months // August Wrap Up + September TBR

I have been struck with the need for a cup of tea. I never thought I’d give in to such British stereotypes but here I am, limited to two a day and dying. This is going to become a problem soon because the busy months have started.

August was crazy. I was working, I was travelling, I was climatising to being at college in America. And now that classes have started I don’t think life is going to be calming down any time soon which is why I’m combining August TBR and September Wrap Up :))

My 5 current reads. (I can’t make my mind up)

I can’t make my mind up on what book I’m currently reading. At a push, I’ll read two books at a time and yet here I am with bookmarks in five, maybe even six books.

Listen I’ve had a lot of things to distract me from reading recently: new Sims expansion pack, new Pretty Little Liars series, and now Mike’s Mic just dropped “an appropriately unhinged recap of Glee (part two)”.

But I’m adament to get back on my reading game and maximising the free reading time that I have before study abroad and classes gets going so today I’m going to talk about the books I’ve started and want to finish!

The Society For Soulless Girls by L.K Stevens

I’ve been highly anticipating this book all year. I bought the e-book and started reading it as soon as possible and yet, I’m only 20% of the way through with this book.

The Society For Soulless Girls is said to be a sapphic retelling of Jeckyl & Hyde, a classic I’ve never actually read but know enough about to be intrigued by a YA retelling. After reading that first 20% I can say that I definitely am intrigued by what I’ve read so far.

I’m so far really liking the atmosphere. It’s giving Dark Academia, which is usually a 50/50 genre for me, but because of this, I’m kind of wishing I’d left it until the weather cooled down. For me, Dark Acadamie is a autumnal/winter genre so I can be wrapped in a blanket drinking tea. I’m back in the UK in two weeks where it thankfully won’t be 40’C so maybe I’ll save this until then.

Currently vibing with these books // April TBR

I feel like this point it’s fair to say that my TBRs are just a list of the books I’m vibing with in the moment. The books that show up on my TBR are barely ever the same books that show up on my wrap up and that’s okay. I’ve made peace with that.

I like going into the month with a rough idea of what I’m in the mood for so I’m not overwhelmed, but I do just go with where the bookish-cravings take me. With that being said, today I’m going to talk about some books I hope to read this April. I guess we’ll see if that actually happens.

March was such a good reading month for me. As I’m writing this post I’ve still got a week left but I’ve already read 9 books. I’ll be happy if I even read half of that in April.

Yes I’ve got 3 weeks off uni for Easter but I’m visiting my Dad, my Mum’s flying over for a week and me and my friends might be going to Edinburgh. So not really all that much free time in the grand scheme of things.

Currently reading way too many books // December TBR

Hi👋

It’s been one of those days today. And by “one of those days” I mean I was on my bedroom floor crying this morning all because it was Derek’s last episode in Criminal Minds and named his fictional son after Spencer.

To make myself feel better I’ve eaten some Terry’s white chocolate orange (top tier) and plan on eating the rest of my ice-cream later. I also thought I’d talk about some books I’m gonna be hopefully reading this month!

So I’m currently read four books. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know how this happened. I was just very excited about starting all of these that I somehow did it all at once. Because I’m anticipating a busy month, I’ll be happy if I just finish these.

The Coldest Touch by Isabel Sterling – I’m only on chapter two but I’m already intrigued. Sapphic vampire’s have been all the range this year and I’ve not read enough of them at all. I enjoyed Sterling’s previous novels and look forward to continuing on with this one.

Homie by Danez Smith – After spending the first half of the semester reading poetry I liked one of those poets enough to read anything else by them. I read one collection of theirs already but had to wait for my hold to become available at the library.

Not so spooky Spooktober👻// October TBR

Hi and howdy!!

We’re just going to ignore the fact that it’s October because how the Hell?? We’re also going to skip over the fact that we’re 1/3 of the way through the month already. Technically as I’m writing this, I’m 5 days into the month, but I’m being organised and not straying from the schedule I wrote up.

Normally in October I like to try and make an effort to read “spooky” books but I’m already gonna struggle juggling Uni and reading this month, so I’m not stressing about reading on-season books.

This TBR is going to look overly ambitious. I don’t expect to read all of these, I just want to have the choices there so I can pick what I’m in the mood for!

Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams – I’m on a roll with this series and I’d love to be able to finish it (is the series even completed?) by the end of the year. I finished Undercover Bromance last night, so it’s time to move onto book number 3! These aren’t the totally best romances I’ve written, but I really love the overall premise of the bookclub and I feel like they’re getting better with each new book.

T.J Klune – I somehow got accepted for an ARC of Under the Whispering Door and The House in the Cerulean Sea!! I can’t believe it, I’m so excited to read these books. I started reading Under the Whispering Door yesterday while I was waiting to go into my first lecture. By “started reading” I mean I read about three pages and didn’t even finish the first chapter, but it’s a start.

I’m not going to have time to read, but one can hope // May TBR

I’m dreading May. Literally the only good thing that’s going to come out of this month is that Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album drops towards the end of the month. That’s the thing that’s going to keep me going.

Despite the fact that I probably won’t have any time to read, I do have a mini TBR for May. Three books is still pushing it but we’ll see what happens.

LGBTQ books I am definitely reading this month // June TBR

Hellooo 🙂 I’m tired today. I hosted an impromptu “party” last night and you’d think a couple of seventeen and eighteen year olds being left home alone with alcohol would have a rager but instead we stayed up till 2am playing Monopoly, hence the being tired today😂

Anyways today I’m going to be talking about all the books I’m planning on reading in June. I read 10 books last month and I’m planning to keep that momentum going. June is pride month and so just like last year I really want to read a whole lot of books with LGBT+ characters and plots.

April TBR

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I’m back again with a new month and a new TBR. I’m being ambitious this month but this first week of the month is filled with exams and my acne is not having fun right now so of course in the week easter holidays I plan on making up for lost time and reading a LOT.

The first book I plan on completing is my current read Goblet of Fire which I started re-reading last month and I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve got like 200 pages to go which I’m trying to finish inbetween studying.

Following my Harry Potter re-read I want to read my recent buy The Magicians by Lev Grossman. I bought this because I LOVE the tv show of which I am 3 seasons in. I’ve heard that some changes were made to the show but I’m really hoping I enjoy this series.

I then want to read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I’ve said I wanted to read this forever but I’m hoping April will be the month! I really want to read Carry On, especially now with the sequel coming out soon but I refuse to even buy it until I read this.

And finally of my physical books I want to read Heartstopper by Alice Oseman. This is a super cute comic and I’m hoping it takes some school stress away and help with the whole acne situation happening on my face.

I then seriously need to get to some ARCs this month and these are the three I think I’ll get to.

Again but Better by Christine Riccio, this is highly anticipated read for many people and I was super lucky to be accepted for an early digital copy. I’m nervous but excited for this.

The War Blog by Glen Sobey, all I know about this is that it’s got some feminist themes. I haven’t seen great reviews for this but I’m gonna hold onto hope that I enjoy this.

You Can Change the World by Margaret Rooke, this is a collection of 50 stories of badass people. I love the cover of this so much.

I don’t know whether these will be the ARCs I get to, I do have my eye on a few others but who knows?

black-and-white-flowers-tumblr-transparent-12I’m really hoping for a good reading month this April, I’m really looking forward to spending a week sleeping and reading.
