Some series I want to read and maybe finish this year. *fingers crossed*

Howdy people. This is my fourth time trying to write this post. I’m close to giving up. Words are not cooperating with my brain right now. Let’s crack on.😊

Today I’m going to start off the first of a few TBR posts for the year, this one is centred around series I want to read this year. I’ve got five series I’ve already started but want to continue on with, and then five that I want to start and maybe even finish.

Series I want to finish:

The Casquette Girls by Alys Arden is a four book paranormal series set in New Orleans after a giant flood, I’m guessing Hurricane Katrina.

I remember the first time I heard about this on a Booktube video and promptly added it to my Goodreads TBR and Amazon Wishlist. A million years later and I finally picked this up and ended up loving it.

The paranomral elements with the witches and the vampires made me feel the same as when I was 13 and watched every season of The Vampire Diaries in one summer and I’m looking forward to continue on and experience more of that classic YA paranormal.

Is anybody else terrified for Any Way the Wind Blows by Rainbow Rowell? Just me? Cool. 2020 was the year of me finally crossing Carry On, a cult classic in the YA genre I think it’s fair to say, and it took no time for me to read the second book, love it even more then the first, and start counting down the days to the finale.

I’m excited to see how characters and relationships grow and develop in this third book more then anything else. Certain people *cough* Simon and Baz *cough* still have a lot to work through and I’m excited but also nervous to see that pan out.

Also I really want to learn more about Shepard. For example: what’s his last name?

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Hann is a series that should be pretty easy to finish this year considering the fact that I only have one book left to read, that of course being Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

I read the second book last year in preparation for the second movie which I never even ended up watching. I think as soon as the third and final movie is announced, that’s when I’ll probably get a move on and read the finale.

This series is cute enough and I’m excited to read more about Kitty so I am looking forward to finishing up with this very popular series.

Vampires are back baby!

Hi and howdy, welcome to my blog.

Today we are discussing something incredibly important: Vampires!! There has been an insurgence of vampires in Young Adult fiction recently and I am living for it!

I’ve loved vampires for a long time now, to the point where I used to tell my parents I wanted to be one when I grew up, and while my goals in life have thankfully changed, I have been loving the new influx of vampire centred stories.

And so with Halloween just a couple of days away I thought it would be perfect to discuss what I loved about past vampire stories and what I’m loving about the newest depictions and takes on the classic bloodsuckers.

Halloween Freebie – #5OnMyTBR

Hello 😊 Welcome to my blog.

It’s Halloween week which means a weeks worth of Halloween themed posts starting off with a #5OnMyTBR Halloween freebie.

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @Local Bee Hunter’s Nook (me!) and you can learn more about it here or in the post announcing it. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

Today I’m going to be talking about 5 spooky/creepy/paranormal books that I want to have read by next halloween. I did this last year and epically failed.I ended up only reading one book out of six on that list but I’m hoping for better results this time around.

The Casquette Girls by Alys Arden

I forgot this book existed and I’m very sad about this. I’d seen this around a couple of years ago, added it to my Goodreads, added it to my Amazon Wishlist, the whole shabang … and then never thought about it again until recently.

The Casquette Girls is set in New Orleans, in the French Quatter and seems to be full of paranormal goodness. It’s got witches and vampires and I’m so excited to read this.

I’ve been wanting to read a New Orleans paranormal urban fantasy for what feels like forever so I’ve got all my fingers crossed that this is everything I’ve ever wanted.

Series Review: The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare

I can’t believe it’s been three years since I first picked up Lady Midnight, my first time following along with each new publication of a Cassandra Clare book and being swept along with all the hype of an upcoming book and all the theories and everything. It was a lot of fun.

I have a decent amount of feelings towards this series so here goes my lil spoiler free ramble Continue reading “Series Review: The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare”
