Book Review: Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Publication Date: March 5th 2019

A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous break up.

Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the real reason why they split at the absolute height of their popularity…until now.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go-Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.

Another band getting noticed is The Six, led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.

Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

Have I read the most popular recent YA novels?

1595613726-1595613726_goodreads_misc

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another quick and easy post because I am tired. Creative posts? Who dat? I don’t have the mental or physical energy for that right now, the heat is killing me, so instead I’m asking the question of: have I read the most popular recent YA novels?

It’s currently YA Week over on Goodreads, they’ve got a cute graphic and everything, so cute infact that I added it here to give this post a bit of “pizaz”. But they’ve basically got a list of the 40 most popular recent YA novels and today I’m going to be saying if I’ve read them and if not do I plan on reading them.

Super quick. Super easy. I say yes or I say no. And then I go sleep 🙂

Translating my favourite books into Emojis!

Helloooo.

So this is 100% not my own original idea!!! I was tagged recently by Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad to do the Liebster Award recently and one of the questions she’d given for me to answer was: Translate the title of your favourite book into emojis! Or even a gifset!

I loved this question so much that I decided to do it for a few more books! But yes, all credit goes to Sabrina cause she’s the one with the amazing brain who came up with this 🙂

Harry Potter: ⚡🏰🚂🧙‍♂️

We’ve got a lightning bolt for Harry’s scar, what I hope you also see as a castle which clearly represents Hogwarts, an old timey train for the Hogwarts Express, and a wiz-end old sorcerer that has a remarking resemblance to Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.

Percy Jackson: 🧜‍♂️🗡⛺🌊🙏

Percy is the son of the sea-god Poseidon who in some of the images I just googled has a mermaid like tail so there we go. That’s Poseidon. Then we have a sword for Riptide, the closest thing I could get to camping which represents Camp Half-Blood, a wave because … water ??? and the praying emoji because the neglected demigod kids pray to their godly parents quite a lot throughout the books. Popular Boks I haven’t Read Yet // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday.

Absolutely nothing has happened recently besides: I ate crumpets, finished season 3 of Brooklynn 99, walked my dogs in my pyjamas because apparently I’m that person now and I started reading Midnight Sun, the unreleased Twilight book from Edwards perspective and it’s hilarious. Possible blog post about that coming in the near distant future.

Anyways I’m just going to jump straight in to todays post which is all about Popular Books I haven’t Read Yet.

I feel like I’m pretty caught up on the popular YA books everyone raves about. I’ve read Fangirl and Victoria Schwab and Adam Silvera and a whole bunch of other popular books and authors but I’ve still got 5 to talk about here.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm

1- Sadie by Courtney Summers

51q4dmgrQUL._SX322_BO1,204,203,200_A whole lot of people rave about this book and the audiobook which is told like a podcast following the disappearance of Sadie. Or her sister. I cant quiet remember who exactly is missing but this is meant to be a super hard hitting book. I’ve actually tried to read this book already but I wasn’t in the mood for it. I do totally plan on picking it up again eventually though. Continue reading “Popular Boks I haven’t Read Yet // Top 5 Tuesday”
