Book Review: Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

*Possible spoilers for Carry On*

Publication Date: September 24th 2019

Series: Simon Snow #2

The story is supposed to be over. Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light… That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

Series: Simon Snow #1

Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who’s ever been chosen.

That’s what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he’s probably right.

Half the time, Simon can’t even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor’s avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there’s a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon’s face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here — it’s their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon’s infuriating nemesis didn’t even bother to show up. New to me authors 2019

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog 🙂

Its officially 5 days to Christmas and I’m in panic mode because I haven’t gotten any presents besides for Secrete Santa. I’m a mess and a disasters.

Todays post is in no way Christmas related because I don’t need the stress, instead I’m going to be talking about a few new to me authors that I read this past year.

Jenn Bennett

I haven’t stopped raving about Jenn Bennet since I read her book Starry Eyes at the start of the year and for good reason. I thought her books, of which I’ve so far read 2 (Starry Eyes and Night Owl) were lots of fun and they made me enjoy and be more open to reading ya contemporary with romances, something I previously wasn’t totally crazy for.

On my shelf I have her other 2 contemporary releases (Alex Approximately and Serious Moonlight) which I hope to get to in 2020 and if I enjoy those I plan on picking up and trying her new historical fantasy novel. Continue reading “New to me authors 2019”

Bookish Wishlist to help me survive.

Hello and happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I started back at school for the third term of my last year as a high school student … and I immediately started freaking out.

With only 9 weeks left at school and 9 weeks to make sure I get the grades to graduate, anxiety and self doubt have taken a hold of my brain.

And so I figured bribing myself into staying motivated and not having a breakdown would be a good idea and so I’ve made a wishlist of a few books I’m hoping to buy myself at the end of June, hopefully as a graduation present to myself!

1- The Devouring Grey by Christine Lynn Herman
