Every 2022 release I’m still determined to read.

Howdy people.

It’s Finals week and you know what that means! It means I’m in the mood to read everything and anything, except the things I actually need to read for my classes. Woop!! It’s a tradition by this point that when I really need to do school work, I am instead overcome with the urge to read.

At this point I’m 2 finals down, 2 to go and I have less than a week to do them, plus pack my suitcase and chase people around campus to fill out forms which leaves little to no time to read. Hence why I am here today to talk about every 2022 release I’m still determined to read!

Gonna be honest, I did not read many new releases this year which is a shame because there’s so many I’m interested in and excited for. I try and give myself a grace period when it comes to new releases which is why I always post a recommendations list a couple months into the new year. To do that though, I’m gonna need to read a couple more books so here are the one’s I’ll be trying to pick up asap:

These three I’m actually planning on reading for February. I wanna do like a whole week of reading 2022 F/F romances that I missed with these books taking centre stage. I would have done this sooner but I just haven’t had the time

  • Never Ever getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales – I am determined to devour all of Sophoe Gonzeles books. The Taylor Swift title reference and the reality TV aspect also make me excited.
  • I Kissed Share Wheeler by Casey McQuiston – This plot is giving me “Paper Towns” vibes which I dont like but I trust McQuiston and am excited to read their YA debut.
  • She Gets the Girl by Rachel Lippincott & Alyson Derrick – I love the cover so much and I love that the two authors are married to each other even more!

  • Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson – Maybe I’ll save this one for Spooky Season. Maybe I’ll read it in preparation to recommend it because I have a feeling I’m gonna love it so damn much. I’ts an adult book about witches. How could I not?
  • Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jennifer Reid – As soon as my bum is sat on that plan to Germany and I have 7+ uninterrupted hours to read, I will be devouring this book. Nothing can stop me.
  • Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong – Chloe Gong is releasing books like they’re going out of style so I need to catch up before I fall too far behind. I actually have this on my desk to start … but I forgot about the book I need to read in its entirety for tomorrow’s classs 😦

My reading plans for this summer β˜€οΈ

Hello πŸ‘‹

My plans for the day came to a screeching halt when my Grandma, who I was meant to spend the day and go out to dinner with, tested positive for Covid. I normally love it when plans get cancelled cause I’m very much an introvert. But I was looking forward to this, even just to get out of the house. I had my outfit picked out and everything.

To amend the fact that I feel all out of sorts now, I figured I’d talk a bit about my plans for this summer.

I’ve got a busy summer coming up. By the time this goes live I’ll be back in Spain, I think I’ll have even started my new job. Things on the agenda for this summer include:

  • Hanging out with my friends as much as possible even though we’re all going to be working.
  • Snorkeling. Every summer I say I’m going to do this more often but never actually do.
  • Another thing I say every summer is that I’m gonna write. Keep your fingers crossed for me. (If anyone wants a writing buddy, hit me up. I need all the help lol)
  • Trying not to let the anxiety kill me as I try and sort out my US visa. The only high-point in all of this is a possible trip to Madrid.

And then of course, the most important part of summer is reading as many books as possible! Even then though, I have specific reading goals for the summer that I’m hoping to achieve!

New Years Book Tag + 2022 Reading GoalsπŸŽ‰

Hello and howdy πŸ‘‹

I’m trying to write my personal statement for my study abroad application. I don’t know if it’s the head cold or my inability to do anything until the last possible minute but I’m failing miserably. (it could also be the fact that it’s now 1am but I work better at night when my distractions, aka my dogs, are asleep).

My approach is just to make me living in Spain my entire personality. It worked for my Uni applications, fingers crossed it works here. Thank you parents for giving me an interesting backstory (and a better life with the chance to learn a new language but that’s besides the point).

I need to take a break though. Might even give up and finish it off tomorrow. I’ll see how I’m feeling after I … share my 2022 Goals and do the New Years Book Tag!!!

Mid Year Book Freak Out 2021!!

Hi, hello and welcome to my blog :))

We’ve made it six months into the year with a loss less drama and action then last year!! Yay πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ The fact that we’ve set the bar so low that “not as bad as 2020” is as good as it gets is quite sad πŸ˜‚

My reading goal for the year was 40 books and I’m thrilled to say I not only reached that goal but surpassed it because as of right now I have read 51 books!!

The only real goals I set myself for the year were in regards to starting, continuing and finishing certain series. So far I’ve only made progress with starting series which kind of defeats the purpose of the goal but oh well.

I’ve re-read a lot more books then I was planning to this year (Heroes of Olympus, Night Owls and Shadow & Bone for starters). I also spontaneously binged a few series (Off Campus and The Vampire Academy) so part of me feels like I don’t have many exciting books to talk about but we’ll see how this goes.

Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2021

I held off doing this tag purely for this question. For the most part I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read this year but there’s not really been any standouts. That was until: If This Get’s Out by Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich.

I have a full review coming soon but to summarise: this book follows two members of a world famous boy-band who fall in love.

This book made me so freakin’ happy and I genuinely couldn’t put it down!!
