My thoughts on Heroes of Olympus!

Hi. I had my evening all planned out for tonight and I was really looking forward to it but then the game I was going to waste my night playing decided not to work, I’ve spent two hours trying to fix it and I’m close to losing my mind.

So instead let’s talk about: The Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan.

This is, of course, the sequel series to the forever iconic Percy Jackson series which I re-read during lockdown to bring some happiness into my life and decided “hey, why don’t I re-read every single book in the series”. It was a stupid idea that I didn’t think I’d follow through on and yet here we are.

I have mixed feelings about this series and that’s what we’re gonna discuss today ๐Ÿ˜Š

A Christmas book haul!

Hello and happy Monday๐Ÿ˜Š

So Christmas is all done and dusted for another year. I hope everyone had a really great time even if things were a bit odd and unusual this year.

My family and I went out to an Indian restaurant this year instead of the traditional roast dinner and it was a really nice change. We ate so much amazing food to the point we were in bed by 9 o’clock. (us not sleeping the night before because of the dogs freaking out over the fireworks also added to the exhaustion).

I also got a bunch of really great books this year that I’m excited to talk about. My mum starts with the Christmas shopping as soon as my birthday is over with all the way back in August so despite the fact that I asked for these exact books, by the time I unwrapped them on Christmas day I was still very surprised.

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik – After a year of talking non-stop about my desire to read this book I finally have a copy and what a pretty copy it is!

This book is set at a school known as The Scholomance were every day is a fight to survive. I genuinely don’t need to know much more then that to be interested in picking this up but the great cover is an added bonus.

I’m thinking this might be the first book I pick up in 2021 and I’m excited but also terrified. I feel like I’ve hyped this book up so much that my expectations may be too high and there’s a chance I’ll end up dissapointed. I hope this is not the case but yeah … I’m scared.

The Harry Potter Spells Book Tag

large (1)

Hello and welcome back to my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I thought I’d do a book tag, my first of the year.

As you can telly by the title I am doing the Harry Potter Spells tag created by Kimberly Faye Reads.

Back in late November/early December I accomplished the impossible and convinced my mum to read the Harry Potter series. She came to love it so much thatย  she made me and my brother watch the movie of whichever of the books she’d just finished.

This year I want to complete my reread of the series which I started last year by reading the final 4 books accept after watching all my faves die on screen, I’m not finding myself all that motivated to pick up the books and read about their deaths. I’m hoping this tag will bring out my inner potterhead.
