My least favourite reads of 2019

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

It’s that time again lads and ladies. It’s the end of another long year which means it’s time to talk all about my highly rated and most hated reads of the year.

As you can tell I’m starting off with my least favourite reads of the year, the baddest of the bunch. I figured it was best to get the negative energy out of the way first. These posts are like mini therapy sessions for me. Book therapy. Its a whole post dedicated to bitching on books I didn’t like and was deeply disappointed by. Lets begin:

The Magicians by Lev Grossman

Listen. Listen! It’s been months since I read this, back in July/August time, and I’m9780399576645_p0_v4_s550x406 still so pissed about this book. At the time I was obsessed with the TV show and I thought “hey, I’m going to love the book”. How wrong I was.

The pacing was off and all over the place, there’s a complete overuse of the words: “breasts” and “bossoms” and Quinten, the main character whose perspective we’re reading from, is a grade A arsehole which is the same in the show but at least in the show you grow to care about him. In the book he was an obtuse dickhead and I was waiting for him to die.

Also while reading this season 5 finale of the show had just come out and let’s just say I’m done with this franchise.

Did I Read my Most Anticipated Reads of 2019?

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog 🙂

So today I thought we’d take a walk down memory lane and have a look to see if I read my Most Anticipated 2019 releases and my Intriguing Releases of 2019 which was a list of books I knew next to nothing about but the covers or a quick glance over the synopsis had me interested.

I’m looking forward to seeing what I thought and if I even still want to read some of them.

SURPISE!!! // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday.

It’s the final round of Top 5 Tuesday 2019! I can’t believe it!. I started with Top 5 Tuesday this past summer and I’ve absolutely loved participating in all the weekly topics. I think I’ve only missed one which I’m really happy about. I can’t wait to see what topics are to come in 2020.

This weeks topic is Top 5 Surprising reads and I have to study so let’s just jump into it.

October Wrap Up!

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

It’s November. We’re officially in the last two months of the 2010’s. I am feeling very old right now so we’re going to move on quickly before I go full existential crisis mode and we’re going to talk about the books I read this October!

I actually made myself a TBR for October, something I don’t often do because I literally never commit but I did quite well this month. I read four books off that TBR as well as starting a 5th and then I added in a random graphic novel for fun as well.

🎃Spooky Season TBR 🎃

Hi, hey, hello and I know I said it yesterday but HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON!!!!

sourceI love all things Halloween so much so infact that I’ve got a whole TBR for this great month of October something I don’t do very often because I never stick to my TBRs and I always end feeling guilt.

However I’m feeling pretty confident in myself right now … even though I’m in a minor reading slump. I need October to be a productive month, and I need to go into the rest of this year with the mind set of “I can do this” so I’m hoping completing a TBR will help me boost myself up.

Anyways, lets just jump in to my pretty ambitious (for me) TBR:

September Wrap Up

Hi, hey, hello and happy October. It’s officially spooky season!

8585

You could say I’ve started celebrating Halloween early because this month I more or less exclusively read ghost stories … and fanfiction.

September was a kind of crappy reading month for me but I’m blaming it on the whole Back to School season and me not yet learning how to successfully monopolise my time. Also. I’ve been playing a whole lot Sims and instead of doing anything productive, as well as recently starting to watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia which I’m officially hooked on so … 🙂 Continue reading “September Wrap Up”

The “I graduated high school” Book Haul!

Hello and happy whatever day of the week it is! (Its summer, I have no idea what day it is. I’m in constant limbo and it’s great).

Today I’m sharing my newest batch of books that I got. As the title might suggest I bought myself these books as a “well done for only having 1 mental breakdown this past school year and managing to graduate on time” gift to myself and I’m very excited with the five books that I bought!

Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

So far this year my reading is going really well. I’ve somehow managed to read 47 books this year while also keeping up with school work. I’m very proud of this.

Absolutely everybody has been doing the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag recently and of course I’m jumping on that bandwagon too. This tag looks really fun and I’m excited to look back at what I’ve read.

🌟Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2019🌟

untitled

I genuinely did try to pick something different for this question but this really has been the best book I’ve read so far this year. It was funny yet also emotional with a nice amount of political commentary that I enjoyed. I’ve had to stop myself from re-reading this multiple times. It definitely deserves the hype. My Review.

🌟Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2019 🌟

untitled

To be honest I’ve barely read any sequels this year. I really need to get on that. But definitely out of the few that I’ve read my favourite was Crooked Kingdom. I’m annoyed it took me so long to read this series and I’m dying for new content from these characters. My Review Continue reading “Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag!”
