2018 releases I’m DISSAPOINTED I didn’t get too // Top 5 Wednesday

Hello 🙂 Happy Wednesday!

Todays topic is Most Disappointing Reads of 2018, however, I already did this before the end of the year so I’m changing it up a bit.

Basically I’m going to be talking about five books that were released in 2018 that I’m sad I didn’t read or buy or anything.

1- All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens throughout the Ages

Favorite Magic Systems // Top 5 Wednesday

0b52cfa20534e151d7c781034eb22588 (1)

Another month and another round of monthly topics I’m very excited about! Especially this month because as everyone knows as soon as it hits the 1st of October it’s basically Halloween and I am ready for all things spooky and scary.

All topics can be found HERE.

So I’m sitting here and I’m realising that I actually haven’t read all that many books featuring magic systems which I’m very disappointed in myself in so any recommendations would be much appreciated.

1- Harry Potter

Cliché I know but this is a classic and even with all the JK Rowling drama going on I still love this world and it feels so authentic to how I always imagined magic being as a kid with wands and funny sounding spells.

2- Wizards of Waverly Place

Am I really including this? You know what, yes I am. Me being sleep deprived and running off energy drinks might be the reason this has made it onto this list but this show was the BOMB back in the old days and I loved it so much so infact that I had a backpack with Selena Gomez’s face on it. These guys literally had to compete for their magic in the family and that was pretty cool. Continue reading “Favorite Magic Systems // Top 5 Wednesday”

Books for my younger self // Top 5 Wednesday

0b52cfa20534e151d7c781034eb22588 (1).jpg

Well done me for so far consistently posting a Top 5 Wendesday even though this is literally only the second week. I’m just gonna take the wins when I can though.

I’m not sure if this is meant to be books to help my younger self or just books I think my younger self would just generally enjoy but I’m going to roll with it.

The weekly topics are posted HERE on Goodreads.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This is more for past me from a year then me when I was a little kid because I have owned this book for so long but I got so intimidated by the hype that I ignored it until recently when people on Tumblr just kept yelling at me to read it.

Tash Hearts Tolstoy by by K. E. Ormsbee

I really enjoyed this book and I wish there had been more books with Asexual characters a year ago when I was trying to figure things out. I am however really enjoying reading through Asexual/Aromantic character books at the minute.

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

images234Q50FU.jpgI’ve never read this series but I loved the movies. I think if I were to read them now they’d be far too juvenile and I wouldn’t enjoy them. Too bad child me wasnt that interested in reading back then unless it was Twilight.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomasf043712f-4655-4c8a-b60f-fca1e4c6ca9f

I’m including this because I still haven’t read it and younger me and current me shouldn’t be scared of the hype and the love around this book. Hopefully I’ll get to it before the movie comes out.

Vampire Academy by Rachelle Mead

Partly to introduce myself to a better vampire alternative to Twilight. Partly because maybe if I’d started this soon I wouldn’t have gotten fed up of vampires and maybe I might have actually finished the series. As is stands right now I haven’t gotten past the fourth book.

Thanks for reading 💜

T5W- Favourite Friend Groups

With this new blog I decided to try and give Top 5 Wednesday another go and try and commit to the weekly posts as much as possible.

The weekly topics are posted HERE on Goodreads.

1-The Gangsey (The Raven Cycle)

I love the Raven Cycle and I especially love the friend group within. Gansey, Ronan, Blue, Adam, Noah and Henry (because we cant forget Henry) are all hilarious and it makes me sad to know I’m never going to part of a group like that.

2- The Waverider Crew (Legends of Tomorrow)

Not book related but I love this show and these characters too much not to include them on this list.

3- The Foxes (All For The Game)

My main blog on Tumblr is literally dedicated to this series and these characters. All are super problematic and in need of therapy but as much as they fight (verbally and physically) they do watch out for each other and in the end they are a family.

4- The Golden Trio (Harry Potter)

This iconic trio couldn’t NOT be on this list. The three of them have been ride or die since they were 11.

5- The Rampion Crew (The Lunar Chronicles)

I read this series a couple of years ago now but I still love this group of friends. Cinder and Thorne are total brotp and I ship all the couples too. And this is the only friend group I know consists of a lost queen, an emperor, a princess, a soldier, a genetic werewolf like solider, a thief, a farmer and an android.
