My Favourite Quotes & Moments: The Raven King

I shared my favourite moments from The Foxhole Court a week or two ago, and here I am, back again on my All For the Game bullshit with my favourite quotes and moments from The Raven King by Nora Sakavic.

I have read this book so many times and it still never fails to make me emotional. I feel like this is where the story really gets going in all the most heartbreaking of ways. I still love it a ridiculous amount though and can’t wait to share my favourite moments!

At eighteen years old, he’d seen more people die than he could comfortably count. Death was unpleasant, but it was familiar and tolerable in his chest.

Page one and Neil has already managed to make me do a sad lil smile

Which popular YA bird-book character am I?

Hello and howdy.

I’ve just been staring at my laptop for the last hour, wanting to write something but just having one big brain fart. Finally though I’ve had the genius idea of re-visiting a post I’ve done before but with a lil twist.

Today I am once again going to be finding out which popular YA character I am, but specifically from the holy trinity of YA bird-books: Six of Crows, The Raven Cycle and The Foxhole Court (which is classed as a bird book cause of the second novel “The Raven King”)

From Six of Crows I am … Nina Zenik

The Quiz

I had a feeling I was going to get Nina purely because I answered with food to a fair few questions and well know Nina is a foodie and rightly so. I really love Nina, she’s funny, badass and so confident in herself. I haven’t read it yet but she’s one of the main reasons I want to continue on to read King of Scars. Very happy with this one!

Opening Lines // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hellooo πŸ™‚ So lockdown was officially lifted here in Spain (for the most part) and as of yesterday my province is finally in phase 1 meaning bars and restaurants are aloud to open which is exciting. I am surrounded by bars where I live and so after two months of dead silence it’s super weird to hear so many people outside.

Anyways today I am back for another round of Top 5 Tuesday. I skipped last week because I was totally stumped. This weeks topic is Top 5 Opening Liners. I just spent the last ten minutes opening up all the books in my room so let’s get started.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm

Reacting to bad reviews of my favourite book // The Foxhole Court

Hello πŸ™‚ 20190120_1238062012396606.jpgI’ve been meaning to do this for a while now but I’ve been too lazy. Today, however, I am procrastinating studying for my exam so now is the obviously perfect time to react to bad reviews of The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic.

All For the Game is one of my favourite series ever so this should be interesting.πŸ˜‚

This is not an original idea in the slightest. I’ve seen this floating around on YouTube but I’d never seen a blog version so all of the credit for this post goes to Nikita @ Prose & Pancakes who reacted to bad reviews of Twilight. Definitely check that out because it was so much fun to read!

*Possible minor spoilers for the book/series*

I do think he [Neil Josten] is THE DUMBEST PERSON ALIVE though. I understand why he would want to stay, but not why he does!!!! He makes very, very poor choices in my opinion.

April Wrap Up

Helloooo πŸ™‚

I don’t know how but it’s that time again where I talk all about the books I read this month. I had a pretty lofty TBR for April and I read approximately two of those books.

My reading was pretty all over the place this month and in terms of quantity but sadly it was pretty “meh” in terms of quality. Because of how random the books are I’ve split them into groups to try and bring some order to this wrap up.

The “meh” books.

The first book I read this month was Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett and it was disappointing. I did a whole review for it but in short: I love Jenn Bennett but I didn’t love this book. It liked the representation: a hard of hearing boy with Japanese heritage and a girl with narcolepsy, but I didn’t care much about the romance. There wasn’t much chemistry between the characters, Birdie and Daniel, at least compared to other Bennett books, and they felt kind of cringey at times.

I was in the mood for some cheesy “oh my god I have superpowers” and “oh my god I’m the most powerful witch to ever exist” read and so I read The Lost Witch by Chandelle LaVaun. . I was hoping for a guilty pleasure read but I basically skim read this. It just wasn’t what I wanted and I barely remember anything that happened (besides lots of characters with very modern American names). Continue reading “April Wrap Up”

#StayHomeReadingRush Wrap Up

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

stayhomeThe weekend happened. It went by fast but maybe that’s because I have no concept of time at this point. Fun.

Anyways the #StayHomeReadingRush happened this weekend too and I participated. It was a super last minute decision and I had homework to catch up on because even though I have nothing to do all day I’m still stuck in my procrastinating ways.

I had hoped to read three books this weekend and I finished two. I’m pretty happy with that. Sure it’s not the best but it was fun and I’m gonna wrap the weekend up and make it seem slightly more interesting then it actually was. Continue reading “#StayHomeReadingRush Wrap Up”

#StayHomeReadingRush TBR

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

I have decided to take part in the #Stay Home Reading Rush which runs from today, 16th April till the 19th. I’ve seen this floating around and I really wasn’t going to take part in it so this is a very last minute decision.

My third term of school started back up this week. I said I was going to be productive this term, make good of a bad situation by using the home-school aspect to get really good grades. I’m barely a week in and I’ve already procrastinated all my assignments until the last possible second so I don’t know how well I’m going to do in this mini readathon but I’m going to give it a try.

Read a book with a house on the cover – Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.Β

I’m taking extreme liberties with this one. The Spanish edition of this book, the edition that I’m reading, has the New York skyline in the distant background … which has apartments … which I am classing as a house because I’ve already started it and want an excuse to finish it.

I mean I live in an apartment and I call it “my house” all the time so yes I’m cheating but it’s okay. Continue reading “#StayHomeReadingRush TBR”

I’m being overly ambitous // April TBR

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

I’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether or not I want to make a TBR this month because I don’t know what to read! Actually no. That’s not the problem. This problem is that I have so much I want to read that I can’t decide what I want to read first.

My TBR is pretty long this month so I doubt I’ll be able to get all of them, although lockdown continues until the 26th at the very least so who knows. I’m only going to be talking about the physical books that I own in this TBR as well even though I do have a few arcs and e-books I’m thinking of reading.

Books its too soon to re-read.

Hello and happy Friday!

I’m another week closer to graduation and three months summer holidays and I cannot wait! And although I’m studying all weekend I am very much looking forward to sleeping in a couple more hours.

Today I’m talking about some book that I’m dying to reread … even though I only read them in the past couple of months. Re-reading, as great as it is and as much enjoyment as I get out of reading books I’ve already loved once before, is going to be the death of me. Re-reading isΒ  going to cause me to drown in my TBR of never before read books and I’ll die.

The Sims Book Tag!

large (1)

Hello and welcome back to my blog πŸ™‚

Today I’m doing the Sims Book tag!

tumblr_pctkbqVT9E1rby04wo1_400

I am absolute trash for the Sims. I love living vicariously through them and basically being their GOD(dess).

Reading and playing Sims are my favourite forms of procrastination and are responsible for the permanent bags under my eyes because I have no control and stay up too late every time. So I figured hey, why don’t I combine the two and do the book tag πŸ™‚
