The Stay Home Book Tag

And once again my procrastination has come back to haunt me 😂 It’s nearly midnight and I still haven’t done my homework or written today’s post.

Could I do these things tomorrow morning? Yes, but I like sleep and I know that no matter how hard I try I’m not going to wake up early and be productive so here I am.

Today I’m going to be doing the Stay Home Book Tag which was originally created by Princess of Paperback. I’ve seen this tag all over recently and I am still stuck at home thanks to Spanish lockdown so that’s what I’m going to be doing today.

Laying In Bed: A book you read in one day.

sleepy

The most recent book I read in one day was The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith not because I liked it but because I had to write a report on it and I left it till the last minute so I knocked it out and got it out of the way with in one day.

Another book I did like and read in one day was The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman. Technically I read the first chapter the night before but that was just testing the waters before falling asleep so it counts. Continue reading “The Stay Home Book Tag”

Back to school book tag – can someone send me back to nursery please.

large (1)

Hello and happy Thursday and welcome to my blog 🙂

Today I come to you with the Back to School Book Tag because as I’ve mentioned in literally every one of this weeks posts I am back at school!

This week has been my first week of college and it’s had its highs and it’s lows featuring numerous stress headaches just two days in but, as I sit here writing this, today went quite well. We’re officially getting into classes and I’ve been socialising more with friends which feels nice. That’s an incredibly sad thing to say but I’m usually the girl sat at the back all by myself because I get too anxious and nervous, so actually joking around with people has been fun.

This is my schedule for the year so not too bad although I am forever pissed that I have P.E first hour on a bloody Friday. Exercise at 8:30 in the morning! I genuinely can’t think of anything worse.

English- Name your favourite authors writing style.

For this first question I’ve chosen Laura Steven. I’ve only read the The Exact Opposite of Okay duology from her so far but I absolutely loved the writing style. It was hilarious, witty and so easy to read. Continue reading “Back to school book tag – can someone send me back to nursery please.”

The “Get to Know Me” Book Tag // My 1 Year Blogger-versary!!!

Hi, hello and welcome to my blog!

Today is a day of celebration. It’s been a whole year since I started this blog.

It’s my bloggerversary and I’m probably spelling that extremely wrong but I feel like terrible spelling is a staple of my blogposts. To celebrate it being a year of me being annoying as hell I decided to do the “Get to know me” Book Tag because in the beginning I never really talked about myself because anxiety 🙂

A little bit about me

My names Elli. I’m 17 and originally from East Yorkshire with the accent to prove it but I’ve been living in Spain since I was ten (although I do not have the tan to prove that). This September I start the Spanish equivalent of 6th form and I am shitting myself.

I have three siblings, two brothers and a sister, all younger, two of which live back in the UK. I also have three pets who I would die for: Fudge, Poppet and Kit-Kat.

And now that you’ve been blessed with these incredible and majestic photos let’s jump into the tag: Continue reading “The “Get to Know Me” Book Tag // My 1 Year Blogger-versary!!!”

I know I’m cheating cause technically this doesn’t even have a title yet but please just let me be excited about this for a second! This has been added to my Goodreads TBR, its gone top priority for next years Wishlist. I’m so excited and I don’t know why! I’ve literally only read the first volume of the graphic novel but I’m hyped for this novelization. Continue reading “F-G-H-I-J // Top 5 Wednesday”

Wrap Ups

January Wrap Up.

bg5

It’s been a month and it’s been a good ‘un!

Hello and happy Not January! We’re 1/12 of the way through the year already and I’ve already read 20% of my reading goal! My goal for this year was 60 books and in this past month I’ve read 12!

I was not expecting that but I’m very happy with myself and how this year has started off.

The first two books I completed this month were Lord of Shadows and also Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Claire. So yep, my year started off full of pain and heartbreak but god did I have a good time reading these and completing the trilogy. I absolutely flew through them. I did a whole review on The Dark Artifices trilogy and then I did a really long post with all my thoughts and feeling on Queen of Air and Darkness.

Book Blogger Confessions Tag

large (1).jpg

Since this is my new blog I thought it’d be a good idea for me to start of by purging my soul with this confessions tag.

Which book, most recently, did you not finish?

35958849.jpg

The last time I DNF-ed a book was over a year ago now and that was  The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead by Samantha Boyette. I rarely DNF because most the time it’s a book I bought myself and book definitely aren’t cheap. I also like to see how much worse it can possibly get so I can successfully rant about it.

Which book is your guilty pleasure?

18296529.jpg

Definitely The Ghost Files by Apryl Baker. This series follows a girl who can see ghosts and I admit it’s super cheesy and cringey at times but there’s something about it that’s so addictive and keeps me reading.

Which book would you throw into the sea?

23591078.jpg

Paper Towns by John Green. I don’t get the point of this book. This was one of the first books where I was reading and was not having a good time. There are plenty of others I would throw into the sea but this one more so because of how hyped it is and I really don’t understand. Continue reading “Book Blogger Confessions Tag”

Wrap Ups

August Wrap-Up.

With me trying with this new blog again I’m going to start with a wrap up.

I originally thought it had been a pretty slow month but then when I came to looking at which books I’d read I found I’d read 10 books! Continue reading “August Wrap-Up.”
