I actually enjoyed “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. WTF!

A couple of years ago I read a popular called The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Hann … and I absolutely hated it. Like, I started reading this at midnight and finished it at 4am, fuelled on by my anger.

I’ve since taken every opportunity to bitch on this book every chance I get.

I am now having a full on existential crisis because I’ve just finished watching the TV show and I LOVED IT!! What the hell?!?! This is honestly the most unexpected thing that’s happened to me all year so we’re gonna talk about that today.

I’d like to say I have some super spooky and fun Halloween plans but I really don’t. My night includes trying to get through my stack of homework while not falling asleep and maybe, hopefully finishing my current read.

And so I’m here to do a Halloween Book Tag to at least pretend like I’m getting int the festive spirit.

I saw this done by Robin @ Paperbacks and Planners ๐Ÿ™‚ Continue reading “Happy Halloween! // Halloween Book Tag”

The Harry Potter Spells Book Tag

large (1)

Hello and welcome back to my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I thought I’d do a book tag, my first of the year.

As you can telly by the title I am doing the Harry Potter Spells tag created by Kimberly Faye Reads.

tag

Back in late November/early December I accomplished the impossible and convinced my mum to read the Harry Potter series. She came to love it so much thatย  she made me and my brother watch the movie of whichever of the books she’d just finished.

This year I want to complete my reread of the series which I started last year by reading the final 4 books accept after watching all my faves die on screen, I’m not finding myself all that motivated to pick up the books and read about their deaths. I’m hoping this tag will bring out my inner potterhead.

Worst Books of 2018

Facebook Cover #1

Hello! Buckle up people because today I am being a negative Nancy and talking about the worst books I read in 2018.

So I have five books for this list which to be honest isn’t that bad considering I read over 90 books this year. Reading bad books isn’t a bad thing, it makes you appreciate those truly amazing books more. Also I have a decent amount of pent up rage to let out on ranting about bad books. Here we go:

Away We Go by Emil Ostrovski
25679389

What was the point of this book you may ask? Well I have no idea.

This is about a hospital rehab centre where loads of kids live because there’s a virus going around killing all Americas adolescents and they get shipped off to these centres where they inevitably die.

Except the book doesn’t delve into this much. It focuses more on the life of a boy whose name I cannot remember as he screws everyone? Idk there’s a lot of sex in this book.

I ended up wanting to DNF this but it had been on my shelf for so long I just wanted to say I had defeated it and read it although the time I spent reading this is time I will never get back. Continue reading “Worst Books of 2018”

๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ„The Christmas Song Book Tag๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…

large (1)

In full disclosure, the past few years I have been kind of a Christmas scrooge. I don’t like the attention all being on me and also there’s so many phone calls. I love my family but talking to them all and arranging skype with my dad and siblings is stressful.

This year however, I was the first one to put Christmas songs on and I’ve been having a blast eating chocolate everyday (whoever invented advent calendars is a GOD) and counting down the days till exams are over and I can have three weeks to read freely. And so what better festive tag then the Christmas song tag.
