My thoughts on … πŸ’• Romance Tropes πŸ’•

February = all my content revolves around love and romance with an obnoxious amount of heart emoji and gifs despite Valentines day only being ONE day of twenty-eight.

Today’s round of me milking Valentines Day for all it’s worth is going to be me sharing my thoughts on popular Romance Tropes. I’ve done this before with YA Tropes and had a lot of fun.

There’s a slight chance that some of the Romance tropes overlap with YA tropes I’ve already talked about but that’s fine. I repeat myself on a daily basis anyways, may as well incorporate that to my blog too.

I’m anxious so have some Enemies to Lovers Recommendations πŸ˜Ž

Hey and howdy, welcome to my blog.

I’m feeling very anxious right now and I can’t shake it. Logically I know why I’m feeling like this and I’m trying to reason with myself and yet the antsy-ness is still there as is the pit in my stomach lol.

In a bid to make myself better I’ve had a nice long shower, eaten some mini chocolate donuts, opened my window (why I think this will make me feel better idk but it’s open) and now I’ve decided to talk about some books.

Say what you will but I love reading about classic or “over-done” tropes, they’re classics for a reason!! I did a whole post a while back where I shared my thoughts on Popular YA Tropes but today I’m stepping it a notch and recommending to you some of my favourite Enemies to Lovers stories :))

I love a good Enemies to Lovers trope. I think I might enjoy them more in contemporary novels because they tend to be rivals whether through school or sport while typically in fantasy it’s like “oh yeah I killed your entire family but I love you”. That might be a bit of an overexaggerating but I know what I’m trying to say. Anyways, here are some I loved!

My thoughts on … popular YA tropes!

Hi and hello ☺

I am feeling slightly anxious right now as I have my driving theory test today (tomorrow as I’m writing this) and I have an irrational fear of failure, so I’ve scrapped my original plans for todays post and instead I’m going to be super chill and talk about my thoughts on Popular YA Tropes!

I was considering doing a Tier Rank List so I got this list of tropes from there but I decided just chit-chatting about each one independantly was much easier then ranking. I have 14 tropes to talk about today so let’s begin:

Heists

I don’t know if I really have much of an opinion when it comes to this trope as the only thing I’ve ever read with a major heist plot-line is, of course, the Six of Crows duology.

Moving away from YA though there are heist TV shows and movies that I’ve watched such as Oceans 8 (I have no plans to watch any of the others but this was goood) and Casa de Papel, aka Money Heist (still haven’t finished the first season though cause I am terrible).

I think my favourite element of this trope is in the character interactions. Such different personalities having together. I especially love a bit of antagonism between two characters thrown into the mix.

Recommendations/On my TBR:

I’ll happily take more of this trope where I can get it. Sadly the only book on my TBR that I know has Heist elements is Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig so if you have any recs I’d love to hear them!
