I’m not going to lie I absolutely freaked when I saw the email for this Blog Tour. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and I’m so thrilled I got to read it!

Publication Date: 21st July 2020

Growing up under his punk rocker dad’s spotlight, eighteen-year-old Luke Greenly knows fame and wants nothing to do with it. Hiding his gift and secretly hoarding songs in his bedroom at night, he prefers the anonymous comfort of the locally popular podcast he co-hosts with his outgoing and meddling, far-too-jealousy-inspiringly-happy-with-his-long-term-boyfriend twin brother, Cullen. But that’s not Luke’s only secret. He also has a major un-requited crush on music blogger, Vada Carsewell.

Vada’s got a five year plan: secure a job at the Loud Lizard to learn from local legend (and her mom’s boyfriend) Phil Josephs (check), take over Phil’s music blog (double check), get accepted into Berkeley’s prestigious music journalism program (check, check, check), manage Ann Arbor’s summer concert series and secure a Rolling Stone internship. Luke Greenly is most definitely NOT on the list. So what if his self-deprecating charm and out-of-this-world music knowledge makes her dizzy? Or his brother just released a bootleg recording of Luke singing about some mystery girl on their podcast and she really, really wishes it was her? The High School Musical Book Tag (aka me living my best life)

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog.

I am doing something super exciting today: The High School Musical Book Tag.

High School Musical was my entire Childhood! I had a HSM lunch box, a Gabriella doll, all the DVDs and CDs (including the concert version) which I played on a loop, my primary school had a High School Musical singing club and we performed “Breaking Free” during an assembly and I went to cinema to watch the third movie.

I watched these movies so much that even my parents know all the words.

And so believe me when I say I jumped up and down in my chair with excitement (which I’m only slightly ashamed of) when I found out this was a book tag that existed.

I tried finding the original creator to this tag but I think that post has since been deleted because I can’t find it. Either way I’m super excited though to re-live my childhood today and combine it with books!

The Start of Something New: A new favourite genre/author/series

sosn

A new favourite author of mine is definitely Erin Hahn. I fell in love with her debut novel You’d Be Mine last year and my love for her multiplied when I read her sophomore novel More Than Maybe a month or two back. She writes such entertaining books filled with humour and music. I can’t wait for it’s official release and to read more from her. Spring Has Sprung … and so have my allergies // Book Tag

Hi, hey, hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I am doing the Spring has Sprung book tag because even though it hasn’t stopped raining in the last two weeks spring has indeed sprung.

Like almost everyone else I’m not aloud to leave my house right now so the allergies are being kept at bay but it’s only a matter of time before the three months of constant sneezing and watering eyes begin. Yay.

Flowers – All the flowers we remember are blooming again. Pick a book that’s a fresh take on a retelling.

30724132

I haven’t read many retellings but I do have a fair few on my TBR including Geekerella by Ashley Poston which I may or may not have bought the e-book of the other night. I don’t know much about this but I know it’s a Cinderella retelling with fandom themes which for a huge nerd like me seems like a fun time. I also know it features a food truck called the Magic Pumpkin which sounds cute!

Cadbury Mini Eggs- Obviously the superior springtime chocolate of choice. Pick a book that you consider to be a sweet treat.

First of all: big fat yesss to Mini Eggs being the best!!!

Less a book more of an author but I really love Jenn Bennetts contemporary novels. They’re such easy reads, the main characters all have something unique about them and even with all the cutness and fluffiness there’s more things at play. I’m currently readin Seriously Moonlight and loving it! Continue reading “Spring Has Sprung … and so have my allergies // Book Tag”

Authors A-Z: A-B-C-D-E // Top 5 Tuesday

aaaa

Hi, hey, hello and happy Tuesday!

I am so excited for this months round of Top 5 Tuesday topics going through the alphabet and talking all about authors. I’m sure I’m going to be as uncreative as possible but I’m looking forward to talking about some of my faves.

I’ve decided to use authors first names as I go through the alphabet this month just because. I have literally no reasoning behind this decision.

The “Get to Know Me” Book Tag // My 1 Year Blogger-versary!!!

Hi, hello and welcome to my blog!

Today is a day of celebration. It’s been a whole year since I started this blog.

celebration.gif

It’s my bloggerversary and I’m probably spelling that extremely wrong but I feel like terrible spelling is a staple of my blogposts. To celebrate it being a year of me being annoying as hell I decided to do the “Get to know me” Book Tag because in the beginning I never really talked about myself because anxiety 🙂

A little bit about me

My names Elli. I’m 17 and originally from East Yorkshire with the accent to prove it but I’ve been living in Spain since I was ten (although I do not have the tan to prove that). This September I start the Spanish equivalent of 6th form and I am shitting myself.

I have three siblings, two brothers and a sister, all younger, two of which live back in the UK. I also have three pets who I would die for: Fudge, Poppet and Kit-Kat.

And now that you’ve been blessed with these incredible and majestic photos let’s jump into the tag: Continue reading “The “Get to Know Me” Book Tag // My 1 Year Blogger-versary!!!”

Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

So far this year my reading is going really well. I’ve somehow managed to read 47 books this year while also keeping up with school work. I’m very proud of this.

Absolutely everybody has been doing the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag recently and of course I’m jumping on that bandwagon too. This tag looks really fun and I’m excited to look back at what I’ve read.

🌟Best Book You’ve Read So Far In 2019🌟

untitled

I genuinely did try to pick something different for this question but this really has been the best book I’ve read so far this year. It was funny yet also emotional with a nice amount of political commentary that I enjoyed. I’ve had to stop myself from re-reading this multiple times. It definitely deserves the hype. My Review.

🌟Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2019 🌟

untitled

To be honest I’ve barely read any sequels this year. I really need to get on that. But definitely out of the few that I’ve read my favourite was Crooked Kingdom. I’m annoyed it took me so long to read this series and I’m dying for new content from these characters. My Review Continue reading “Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag!”

Books its too soon to re-read.

Hello and happy Friday!

I’m another week closer to graduation and three months summer holidays and I cannot wait! And although I’m studying all weekend I am very much looking forward to sleeping in a couple more hours.

Today I’m talking about some book that I’m dying to reread … even though I only read them in the past couple of months. Re-reading, as great as it is and as much enjoyment as I get out of reading books I’ve already loved once before, is going to be the death of me. Re-reading is  going to cause me to drown in my TBR of never before read books and I’ll die.

Books I didn’t think I’d like but actually did // Top 5 Wednesday

Hello and happy Wednesday!

So today’s topic is Books You Thought You’d Hate But Ended Up Loving and I have to admit I had a bit of trouble with this topic.  To be honest with most of these its “books I was mildly indifferent about but ended up loving”.

All weekly topics can be found HERE.
